This is an alternative primary in which Ronald Reagan decides not to run in the 1980 primaries, a group of candidates come forward to win the nomination. I included those who formally run and those who declined to run.

In the actual 1980 I was for Howard Baker until he dropped out, then switched to Anderson.  But I would have been tempted by Richardson if he decided to run.

Not a Republican, but if he ran, I would have supported Gerald Ford for the nomination and the presidency (as I would have in 1976 already). He was decent and competent.
