I don't think, IIRC, that the term "First Lady" is in the Constitution at all. If it's a gay couple, I would assume that it would just be the First Gentleman, and, for a lesbian couple, First Lady.

Jennifer Siebel, the wife of Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA), is called "first partner". For what reason ever.

Seems like needless newspeak to solve a nonexistent problem tbh. Marlon Reis is sitting right now in Colorado under the title "First Gentleman."
