In regards to the nomination, Bradley could've potentially filled the vacuum left by the Hart scandal. Biden was initially favored to become the frontrunner, but scandal pushed him out. It was eventually Dukakis, though I'd say Bradley would've been the stronger candidate.

In regards to the general, it's a jump shot.

I think Bush still wins, but Bradley would have been a much stronger candidate than Dukakis or Hart and would make the election pretty close.

Well, Bush won NJ by 14 points, but 1988 is also the most recent election where the GOP actually won NJ, so something tells me Bradley definitely would've made it a lot closer, if not outright won it (esp. if he himself was solidly popular in NJ, too).
