This act will create a bus system that will act as a supplement to the region-wide LincolnRail network, serving rural areas that may be harder to reach by the rail system, are not along rail routes, and/or may be poorer. This network will have many benefits for both our citizens and the region, including helping to better connect the rural towns and cities to urban cores, helping those without a car get around easier (and ultimately in the distant future help Lincoln transition off of car transport), and helping to spur economic growth in rural areas that may be less inclined to receive the amount of growth normally reserved for urban regions.

This is in response to a story earlier in the year about the Fair Wages Act 2018 causing an issue with LincolnRail.

As a former legislator of this region, I strongly urge the Assembly vote YES to this act that will allow LincolnBus to be established should it pass.
