Because they have to in order to make their communication seem sincere and non-threatening in a world where male-dominated values and standards prevail.

It's similar to how a woman will use exclamation points in work email much more frequently than her male coworkers.  If she didn't, she would probably be perceived as cold or harsh.  Men don't have to worry about being perceived that way, but women do.
