Who are they and in which regions would they most likely be located?

I don't know about that. Romney won none of the counties in MA.

Romney won a lot more towns and cities than Bush and McCain did. Counties are terrible indicators of trends in MA since the towns and cities within a county can vary greatly from each other.

Very wealthy moderate-ish person (lawyer maybe?), bonus points if in Massachussetts. Romney did generally did better in the richest towns than Bush (though Bush obviously still won handily). 1%-er towns have been rather swingy the past 15 years. Clinton landslide in 2016, an even bigger Romney landslide in 2012, tied in 2008 and a Bush landslide in 2004 (though Bush probably won by a smaller margin than both Romney and Clinton).

I believe Darien/New Canaan (extremely wealthy banker towns in Connecticut, used to be sundown towns) literally went from 60% Bush to 50% McCain to 65% Romney to 40% Trump.

Probably not, but once you look at the town-level results (CT, MA and CA have town level results) more ''1%-er towns'' voted for Kerry in 2004 than for Obama in 2012. So while the majority of very wealthy voters definitely voted Bush in 2004 I'd say that Kerry/Obama/Romney/Clinton does reflect the trend.

In addition to the wealthy, secular reform/conservative jews that support Israel and are economically moderate would be one.

Someone who's socially liberal but was very, very mad about Obama's foreign policy. So me if I had been old enough to vote at the time.

Maybe a WWC female who was a marginal vote for Romney in 2012 but supported Clinton due to the historicity of her campaign.  Her husband voted for Trump.

A very wealthy women in Greenwich, CT who disliked Bush’s social conservatism in 2004, who wanted to try something new with Obama in 2008 but who became very angry at him in 2012 because of higher taxes, of course she was disgusted by Trump and thus voted HRC in 2016.

Low-attention voter who was suckered into voting for Romney because they consumed too many vapid fearmongering media pieces about deficit spending.
