November 3rd, 1992
CNN Headquarters

"We are currently analyzing certain results throughout the country and we are seeing that it is going to be very hard for President Bush to win this. We now go live to the Decision Desk for a major projection-"

Booming crowds went off all throughout Clinton Headquarters. You can hear the cries of joy and the screams from everyone in the room. As signs were waving in the air, President-Elect Clinton walked on stage.

"Thank you so much all of you. This is a win for a New America, and one that is going to work. I'm honored to get to serve you all..."

Welcome all of you to the 1996 Election Rewind Game!

This election game is going to be revolving around the 1996 U.S. Election, and the actions of President Clinton until the election. This game is basically going to go where it starts January of 1995, where people begin to announce. Either every week, or every two weeks, a month will go by. Applications for candidates and game play will begin on January 27th at 1:00 AM EST and will end with a General Election on April 4th, 2019.

Candidates may be chosen from the lists provided below or requested by PM if not listed.
(Note: Ridiculous and/or impossible candidates (i.e. FDR, Justin Trudeau, or Donald Trump) can and will be rejected.)

Original characters will be allowed if they have not held any prior office higher than US Representative, and are not just characters literally designed to win a presidential election (must Private Message in order to get permission)

Schedules may be anything from daily breakdowns of candidate activities to monthly generalizations, but failure to post a schedule for more than 3 weeks will be considered a withdrawal.

PM me for endorsements, and polls will be posted monthly until the primaries (when they will become weekly affairs).

Endorsement system: credits awarded at 1 per week for every 5% a candidate attains in the polls.
1 credit: "minor" endorsement: US House or state legislator
2 credits: former: Cabinet officials, Senators, Governors
3 credits: sitting Senators and Governors (sitting Cabinet officials will not endorse in the primaries); political organizations (i.e. AFL-CIO, NRA, etc.)

Ads will be limited to one per player per week to prevent overload until there are fewer than 10 candidates.

Current State of Congress:

Senate Balance: Democratic Control, 57-43

Difference from what happened:

Sanford (D-NC) won over Faircloth
Kasten (R-WI) won over Feingold
Rauh (D-NH) won over Gregg

House of Representatives: Democratic Control, 258-176

NGA: Democratic Control, 30-18

Vice President: Al Gore (D-TN)

President Clinton's Cabinet Members:

Secretary of State: Warren M. Christopher

Attorney General: Janet Reno
Secretary of the Interior: Bruce Babbitt
Secretary of Agriculture: Dan Glickman

Reporter: We now come to Scranton, Pennsylvania, where the former governor, Bob Casey, is making an announcement regarding a presidential decision. Let's listen in:

"...but in recent years, it has become apparent to many folk, myself included, that the Democratic Party has lost it's way. No longer is it the party of the working man, the single mother raising a family, or the elderly couple. It instead has embraced a radicalized platform of abortion-on-demand, ridiculing the religious as "backwards," and taxing and spending from here to kingdom come.

I have thought long and hard about this ever since that fateful July day back in 1992, when I was barred from speaking at the National Convention for these same reasons. I was mocked and laughed at by the party, the same party I had admired for all of my life. So, after much reflection, discussion, and prayer, I have concluded that there is only one way to take back our party: By force.

Ladies and gentlemen, I am indeed running for the Democratic Nomination for President of the United States! We can't let our party be hijacked-we must fight back!..."

There you have it. Bob Casey, insurgent candidate for president. Now, as of right now he is the only declared Democrat, but it remains to be seen whether other candidates jump in, as President Clinton is expected to seek a second term, and, well, primarying a sitting president isn't something many people want to do.

As for Casey, he is not currently holding any office, which gives him a big advantage in that he can campaign without having to balance his schedule between his duties and his run.

Reporting from Scranton, Pennsylvania.

BUSH EXPECTED TO ANNOUNCE 96' PRESIDENTIAL BID!

Brokaw: "Welcome NBC, i'm Tom Brokaw and we are now cutting live to Texas Governor George W. Bush, who is making an announcement outside of the governor's mansion in Austin."

Bush: "....This administration has failed Americans, this administration has degraded all sense of respect, honor and dignity to the sacred office of the Presidency. We must restore the dignity to the office. Which is why, I am officially announcing my candidacy for President of the United States as a Republican! We will win in November, and we will bring a new era of compassionate Conservatism to the White House! Thank you all! Let's win this, and god bless America!"

Brokaw: "Well that is certainly interesting, and shakes up the whole 96' race."

BUSH CAMPAIGN RELEASES IOWA CAMPAIGN SCHEDULE

George W. Bush has just released his campaign schedule for the upcoming Iowa campaign for the Republican presidential nomination. This is interesting, because Bush has released this very early, and we still have over a year until the RNC, but this could give him an advantage over the other candidates, giving him extra time to campaign and gather votes.

Here's the Bush 1995 campaign Iowa schedule:
1/30/95: Kickoff rally in Sioux City
2/12/95: Rally in Davenport
2/28/95: Rally in Waterloo
3/10/95: Rally in Ames
3/25/95: Rally in Davenport
4/2/95: Rally in Ankeny
4/29/95: Rally Dubuque
5/4/95:Rally in Des Moines
6/1/95: Rally in Iowa City
6/23/95: Rally in Council Bluffs
7/5/95: Rally in Cedar Falls
7/28/95: Rally in Altoona
8/5/95: Rally in Marshalltown
8/24/95: Rally in Urbandale
9/6/95: Rally in Johnston
9/28/95: Rally in Muscatine
10/2/95: Rally in Pella
10/29/95: Rally in Boone
11/8/95: Rally in Waverly
11/25/95: Rally in Clive
12/5/95: Rally in Fort Madison
