Sherrod Brown 2020
Rebuild America.

Campaign Highlights (2/2)

Sherrod Brown shakes up campaign, adds new strategists

Quote
On September 9th, the Sherrod Brown campaign announced it would be shaking up the campaign and adding new advisers and strategists to the campaign to boost performance and momentum in the coming weeks. Sherrod Brown announced that Joe Trippi would be joining the campaign as a strategist, who is a longtime Democratic strategist, and has worked on several Gubernatorial, United States Senate and Congressional campaigns, including Howard Dean for President 2004, Jerry Brown for Governor of California and, most recently, Doug Jones for U.S. Senate in Alabama.

Joel Benenson also joined as the campaign as a pollster, who had done polling for Obama since joining the Obama campaign in Jan. 2007. Sasha Bruce was, as well, named to become a strategist on the Sherrod Brown campaign, who currently serves Senior Vice President for Campaigns and Strategy for NARAL Pro-Choice America. Campaign Comm. Director Jennifer Donohue said these new strategists and advisers are part of a continued effort to "message our progressive values" and "build a grassroots movement of millions of working families."

Brown touts vote against DOMA, claims status as most pro-LGBT candidate

Quote
"LGBTQ rights are human rights and civil rights, and we must be committed to ensuring that America lives up to its promise to treat all of its citizens with dignity, love and respect. Since entering public office more than two decades ago, I gladly stood shoulder to shoulder with the LGBT community. We must honor the bravery of the countless lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender individuals who continue to fight for full civil rights and for a more just and inclusive society, and oppose any form of discrimination. I believe that all Americans, regardless of sexual orientation, deserve the equal protections guaranteed under the Constitution.

Long before it was a politically popular position, I gladly casted a 'no' vote on the anti-LGBT Defense Of Marriage Act in the 1990’s and I'll fight against any efforts to deny LGBTQ Americans the right to marry whomever they love. Any American who honorably serves our country in uniform should be treated like the patriots they are. Since the beginning of my career, I've opposed the military’s “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy and pushed to repeal the policy in 2010. Even though this progress has been made, it’s still legal in many states to discriminate against someone based solely on their sexual orientation or gender identity.

That’s why we must lead the charge on legislation that would expand federal civil rights protections and backed other bills to fight LGBTQ discrimination in housing, the workplace and around the world. LGBTQ youth are especially at risk to harassment and discrimination. We must move to outlaw fraudulent, unfair, and deceptive 'conversion therapy.' As President, I would push an aggressively pro-equality agenda because building a more free and equal society begins with helping those who will inherit it."

Bernie Sanders joins Sherrod Brown in Iowa rally: "He is the real deal"

Quote
In a continued attempt to woo progressive voters (from Abrams and other candidates), Senator Bernie Sanders made a rally appearance in Iowa.

"I am so glad to join here with Senator Sherrod Brown. This movement he has amassed in the past several months is unlike any other; he has built a movement of millions of working families who are ready to revitalize American democracy and take on corporate greed. As someone who has worked with Senator Brown for a very long time, I can verify that he is the real deal. He has rejected big money donations throughout his career and he is a staunchly progressive Senator.

We need to send a clear message to the billionaire class and Wall Street in this upcoming election. My colleague, Senator Sherrod Brown, has been there at every vote standing for working families and not the bidding of Wall Street. He led the fight for sane labor and environmental protections in our trade agreements to protect middle class workers in Ohio and Iowa and across the country. He is running for President, not for his own gain but, to finally, aggressively push a pro-middle class, pro-main street, and pro-wage growth agenda to make our economy work for all of us.

We must bring this political revolution straight to the White House. My friend, Sherrod Brown, is a qualified, consistent progressive that will finally put the American middle class first, and on February 3rd, Iowa is going to send a message to Washington and Wall Street: you can't have it all while our middle class working families are scraping by. Ad: Country over All
Hi, I'm Congressman Justin Amash, and I'm running for President.

One thing I want you to know is that I'm not a typical Republican. I put my country over party, in fact, I put my country and its people over just about anything. When Republican orthodoxy was to extend the Patriot Act and continue spying on its citizens, I bucked the party and instead voted to repeal it. When it comes to protecting Americans and their liberties, nothing will stop me from ensuring I do everything in my power to keep Americans free. I promise that I will be the same way as your President. When I think something is right, I'll act on it, no Party or special interest will stop that.

I hope you'll join me in standing for America and its people by casting your vote for me, Justin Amash, thank you.

We work in the interest of workers all over the United States. We've examined the candidates, their views, and their vision for America. We've only seen one candidate that will really fight for what we believe in, and for Workers in this country. That person is Governor Alex Sink.

American Postal Worker's Union

The APWU Spokesman said on Saturday:
Quote
We have to differ with the AFL-CIO and AFSCME on our endorsement for President of the United States. We have to look out for every Postal Worker in America, and we've examined the policy, and we've found who we will be supporting and endorsing. We've chosen to endorse Governor Alex Sink for President of the United States.

Former Gov. Bob Graham

The Former Governor said on Saturday:

As the Former Governor of Florida, I had the honor to work with Governor Alex Sink on many issues. ALEX SINK AD, "NOT RIGHT FOR AMERICA" IN IOWA, NEW HAMPSHIRE, VIRGINIA, NORTH CAROLINA

Narrator: Stacey Abrams has tried to show America that she's a clean candidate, with nothing to hide. Think again.

In 2008, Stacey Abrams voted to allow Sex Offenders to operate and work within 1,000 feet of a School Building.

She was only 1 of 29 people to nay HB 908. Stacey Abrams even said that this piece of legislation was "Harmful to Georgia's Well Being."

Stacey Abrams even owes over $50,000 to the IRS.

How can we trust someone who allows Sex Offenders on our streets, who won't even pay her taxes? We can't.

Stacey Abrams, right for America?

Think again.

I'm Alex Sink and I approve this message.

Sherrod Brown 2020
Rebuild America.

Campaign Schedule (1/2)

Oct. 1 to Oct. 7: Senator Brown continues his campaign visit to Nevada. With Congresswoman Dina Titus, who recently announces her endorsement in a press release, he holds three rallies sporadically in Las Vegas discussing his plan for immigration reform and collective bargaining advancement, pledging "humane immigration reform that allows a pathway to citizenship for law-abiding immigrant workers and children" as well as "ensuring dreamers get a chance at citizenship" while "cracking down on corporate mistreatment of undocumented immigrants." While still in Las Vegas, he holds meet & greets in local union halls and, later, receives the endorsement of UNITE HERE, a major Nevada union which represents nearly 30% of Nevada workers. During these meet & greets, he pledges to be the "most pro-labor candidate." Congresswoman Dina Titus joins him as often as her schedule allows.

Oct. 8 to Oct. 19: Senator Brown takes a flight from Nevada to take another campaign swing around North Dakota, joined by Senator Tammy Baldwin. He spends most of the early days holding a series town halls & meet and greets in somewhat dense rural, agricultural communities, where he outlines a progressive plan for rural America, including heavy investments in access to rural broadband, stronger antitrust laws against corporations who abuse family farmers, investments in our dams, levees, and electric grid, stimulating the declining dairy farming economy, and reform farm subsidies to ensure benefits to family farmers. Brown remarks that "rural broadband is necessary for 21st century commerce in communities like these" and that "family farms drive our rural communities." Later, he held rallies in Bismarck and Fargo where he urged the necessity to "rein in Wall Street... reform our campaign finance laws and revitalize American democracy." He concluded the trip meeting with various colleges and promoted his message of tuition-free, debt-free college to "ensure everyone has the education they need to make a good living."

Oct. 20 to Oct. 22: Senator Brown takes a break from campaigning in these days to settle down with Connie and the family, while high-level strategists conduct campaign deliberation.

Oct. 23 to Oct. 26: Senator Brown drove to Milwaukee, WI with Senator Tammy Baldwin to hold a roundtable discussion on African-American issues in urban cities. Coming out of the meeting, Brown urged the importance of "revitalizing the dignity in all work" and "heavily reforming our criminal justice system... ending the era of mass incarceration that has destroyed so many lives, disproportionately African-american." Additionally, he met with local Democratic party volunteers and did local door-knocking with them.

Oct. 27 to Oct. 28: Senator Brown flew down to St. Louis, MO to hold a massive rally and rile up support for their cause along with Senator Tammy Baldwin and Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard, using the rally to promote campaign finance and wall street reform. Brown said during the rally that "Big money has continued to control our politics and it's time for millions of working families to come together and tell Wall Street that you can't have it all." Tulsi Gabbard joined the rally to promote Brown's vote against the Iraq War and criticized John Kerry's vote for the Iraq War and continued defense of it in 2004, "We can no longer steal from our communities to conduct another one of these regime change wars" and "We need a President who will really invest in our communities, not overseas wars." During the rally, spokesmen for the AFSCME joined and announced their endorsement for Senator Brown, calling him "America's #1 advocate for labor" and "proposes the most aggressively pro-wage growth agenda of all the candidates."

The day after, Senator Brown held a press conference to accept the endorsement of the United Food and Commercial Workers and the United Auto Workers labor unions. Brown said the "these unions have fought every day to give these workers a chance at higher wages and better benefits. I'm glad to have cast every vote pro-labor in Congress and I'm glad to receive their support now." The spokesmen touted Brown as a "staunch ally of organized labor." Later in the day, Brown delivered a speech on reproductive rights with NARAL Pro-Choice America, who have endorsed Brown's campaign, saying that "We must always protect a women's right to choose" continuing to tout his consistently pro-choice positions.

Oct. 29 to Nov. 15: Senator Brown took another flight to Iowa to take another tour through the state. He would hold a series of meet & greets in large workplaces in urban cities, where he promotes his plan to raise the minimum wage to $15, ensure paid family and sick leave, and crack down on tax loopholes abused by corporations to "create growth for main street, including our local, small businesses" and as well said that President Romney has "betrayed Iowa's workers" by cutting taxes for the rich over investing in growth for the middle class. After these meet & greets, he held rallies in Cedar Rapids and Iowa City, calling for the "next chapter in American history... one of economic, racial, and environmental justice." At the rally, he called for the revitalization of the labor movement and a great expansion of worker's rights, including $15 minimum wage, paid family and sick leave, and workplace democracy. Later, he toured agricultural communities and promoted his plans for growing the rural economy, previously campaigned on in North Dakota, and called for raising social security benefits to lower senior poverty. Brown finished his swing through Iowa by door-knocking and phonebanking with volunteers in Mason City.

Elise Stefanik Speech in Des Moines

(Des Moines, Iowa February 3)

I've gotten to learn Phil Scott over the course of this year. This is a man who listens. He sees the job of a public servant is to listen to you the people, and then go back to Washington and fight like hell, and work with everyone to get the stuff you asked for done. He's not one of those brash and reckless types who makes a big storm ranting on and on for some special interest cash. He's the type of leader who goes out here to Iowa to listen to the people, and then he goes back to Washington, gets those politicians to the table, and brings home the bacon! The bacon, the fairer tax code for middle class families, more money for our roads and bridges, and a government, a congress, that works for us!

What Manfred did part 2

Manfred campaigned in New England and the Northeast in the month of January on fixing NAFTA and establishing free trade with China and help them get rid of there tarrifs on Amercian goods and how he plans to deal with the Trans Pacific Partnership.

In Harford Connecticut he called the TPP as it stands as a total loss of Good Amercian jobs to China and Japan. In the same speech he promised to bring back and protect America jobs without using tarrifs.

Lisa Murkowski Rolls Out New Endorsements

In Des Moines

Senator Chuck Grassley:
Quote
I’ve been in the Senate since 1981, and haven’t seen a presidential candidate embody what Iowa needs as much as my colleague, Lisa Murkowski. I’m happy to endorse her campaign for president.

In Nashua

Former Senator John E. Sununu:
Quote
I served with Senator Lisa Murkowski, and I know she’s a true independent thinker. New Hampshire is a state that appreciates someone who bucks the status quo, and that’s why I am proud to endorse Senator Murkowski ahead of our primary.

BREAKING NEWS
January 12, 2020

Good morning. I'm Anderson Cooper, and we have breaking news.

Former President Jimmy Carter, who served from 1977 to 1981 and became the oldest former President in history last March, passed away last night in his home in Plains, Georgia, aged 95.

The former President is survived by numerous relatives, and his wife said that, even to the last, he called for bipartisanship and progress in Washington. Funeral services will be held January 21, following the body's lying in state in the Capitol prior to this. President Romney and Vice President Ryan plan to attend. The eulogy will be given by President Carter's grandson, Jason Carter, unsuccessful candidate for Governor of Georgia in 2014.

Amash Campaign statement on the Passing of Pres. Carter

President Carter's passing is a deeply saddening event, and I believe we should work hard to honor his wishes of bipartisanship, and his kindness and compassion. Even if you don't agree with his political positions, we should all appreciate his embodiment of the American Dream, a peanut farmer from Georgia rising to become President of The United States.

PRIORITIES USA ACTION RUNS PRO-SINK AD, "REAL IDEAS FOR AMERICA" AIRS IN IOWA, NEW HAMPSHIRE, CALIFORNIA, WASHINGTON, MAINE

Alex Sink:
Hi, I'm Governor Alex Sink. You may have heard of me as, "That Crazy Old Woman" or "That one Governor."

Alex Sink:
And well, they're right. I am a Crazy Woman, but I'm crazy, in the good way. Let me tell you some of my ideas that people will tell you are "radical" or "can't be achieved."

Alex Sink:
First, you'll hear that embracing Medicare for all isn't what we should do. That we need to stick to the status quo. Well, to all them I say, nope. I'm proud to support Medicare for All, and I can't wait to help enforce it as President.

Alex Sink:
I'm also proud to fully support an America in which our Colleges are Tuition Free. It's our duty as Politicians to fight for Americans, to fight for what we believe in, and to help America. If making sure that our Students can afford to live, then yep, I'm glad to endorse that "radical idea."

Alex Sink:
I'm ready to embrace and take action on ideas that will Change America, for the Better. I'm asking you to jump on board this ship, this ship of ideas, this ship of bipartisanship, this ship of experience, because on this ship we have one destination, the White House.,

Alex Sink:
I'm Alex Sink and I approve this message, because it's time to ensure that our Government takes real action on issues facing us today, so that way, our Vision of America is one that works.

Narrator:
Priorities USA Action has paid for this advertisement.

Phil Scott Speech on Passing of President Carter

I was deeply hurt and saddened by the passing of President Carter. This was first a kind and gentle man. He was a man who loved his family, a man who loved people, a man who loved living. He was a son of Georgia, and made his life there. This is a man who rose from being a peanut farmer to the highest office in the land, who ran not on politics of division, but on politics of kindness, love, and respect. A man of faith in God, an in humanity, I believe, regardless of politics, that President Carter is someone for all Americans to look up to. I am deeply saddened, and heart by the loss of this American hero.

Alex Sink Statement on the Passing of Jimmy Carter

Alex Sink:
Yesterday we not only lost a Former President, but we lost an American Hero. President Jimmy Carter was one of my friends, a colleague, and a mentor. He guided me through some hard times in my life. President Carter was able to bring Americans Together, to unite us as a Country, in which we worked together and harder. I hope that as President, I can bring that same kind of influence, that same kind of energy, and that same kind of charisma that Jimmy Carter was able to bring. No matter the tragedy, no matter the people involved, Jimmy was there. He was a True Humanitarian, and one of the Greatest Americans Ever. I know he's in a better place, with God, and I hope one day I get to meet him there.

Election Update 2020
with your hosts, Wolf Blitzer and John King

Carlson: Good evening. I'm Tucker Carlson.

Kelly: And I'm Megyn Kelly.

Both: And this is your Election Update.

Carlson: And we would begin tonight with a list of endorsements, if there weren't so many that we've been informed that we cannot fit all their endorsement speech into one update! Really a very active field out there this year, lots of eager faces ready to duke it out for the top job in the country!

Kelly: However, don't think we're copping you all out, as we're proud to announce we have received local polls for Nevada and North Dakota! If you look on your screen, you'll see them displayed there:

GRAND FORKS HERALD NORTH DAKOTA PRIMARY POLLS, 19-22 JANUARY 2020
Democrats
John Kerry - 26%
Sherrod Brown - 24%
Alex Sink - 21%
Stacey Abrams - 21%
Undecided - 8%

Republicans
Justin Amash - 28%
Rick Santorum - 25%
Lisa Murkowski - 23%
Phil Scott - 22%
Undecided - 2%

LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL NEVADA PRIMARY POLLS, 19-22 JANUARY 2020
Democrats
John Kerry - 27%
Sherrod Brown - 25%
Alex Sink - 20%
Stacey Abrams - 20%
Undecided - 8%

Republicans
Justin Amash - 27%
Lisa Murkowski - 26%
Rick Santorum - 22%
Phil Scott - 21%
Undecided - 4%

Carlson: And, to top that all off, we have John Kerry on, who just finished up an interview with TIME Magazine.

Kelly: Yes, and we're very excited to have him on tonight. John, how are you?

Kerry: I'm glad to be here, Megyn. While I'm as dedicated a liberal as any, I believe that everyone should be able to get access to all sides of the argument.

*Carlson makes face at mention of Kerry's liberalism*

Kerry: Glad to see I'm speaking to the adult in the room.

*Carlson jokingly sticks tongue out at Kerry*

Kelly: *laughs* Well, Senator, it’s official: you’ve taken the lead in the Democratic field once again. Due to the fact that this is the second time the lead has changed hands since this time last year, how do you intend to hold onto this lead?

Kerry: I intend to hold this lead by doing the same thing that I have been doing for the entire campaign. We are running a campaign on the ideas of protecting the environment, and protecting the future of America. I am running this campaign on behalf of the American working class, I am running this campaign on behalf of the American workers who have been laid off, we will create millions of new jobs in the green energy sector.

We will keep campaigning on a message of Hope & a Green Future. I am the candidate for pragmatic change, we will save our environment from the destruction that we are putting it under now, and we will create millions of new jobs in the United States and around the world. As President, I won't think of just 4 years... but of the next 40 years...

Kelly: Is this the end of the United States Green Party? We'll have to wait and see. Now, despite claims that identity politics within the Democratic Party is dead, many still want someone a bit more diverse than your 2004 running mate, John Edwards, at the bottom of the ticket. Have you given any thought to that yet?

Kerry: I'm not going to pick someone as Vice President based solely on their race, gender, or sexual orientation, I am going to pick the person who we believe is the most qualified, and who we think will help our ticket have the best chance of winning. I haven't really given much thought to who I'd like to see with me on the ticket, but it will likely be someone younger.

We'll need a diverse ticket if we want to defeat the GOP in November, and avoid a climate disaster... We need to work together as a party to unite behind a nominee, and to unite as a party in the fight against climate change and towards a future that is greener, and has cleaner air for our children to breathe...

Kelly: Is Senator Kerry keeping his cards close because he has an ace in the hole? If he does, it'll make this next question all the more relevant: We’ve asked just about everyone, yourself included, what their first 100 days will be like on this show (though the last time was way back in early 2019 with Lester and Chuck). What are some of your more long-term goals?

Kerry: My longterm goals tie into my short term goals as well, we will need to reform our education system along with working with both sides of the aisle in Congress to pass meaningful legislation in the areas of Healthcare, the Environment, and Immigration. These areas have been avoided by the Romney Administration, and if we want to continue to progress as a nation we need to address them sooner rather then later.

Hopefully, I will be working with a Democratic-controlled congress, and this why the leaders have endorsed me, because I am the best Democratic option to pass sensible legislation in this environment. I am the best Democrat to win back both houses of Congress in their minds. The other candidates talk about these grand ideas, but they don't talk about them getting passed in a Republican controlled Congress. The leaders of our party endorsed me for a reason, because I will help win back Congress, and I will push sensible, liberal, and forward thinking legislation through Congress.

Kelly: The Democrats' hopes for retaking Congress growing stronger by the day. Finally, Senator, if you win the nomination, how would you rank your opponents in the general election, from strongest to weakest?

Kerry: I think that all the Republican candidates have their own strengths and weaknesses, but I don't think I can rank them, because it's not really my choice. I know who I will be voting for in November and it will be the Democratic nominee, and if I have my way with that process it will be me. All the choices in both parties races are good, I have known all of them for a number of years, and all of them work incredibly hard to bring America forward.

I am focusing on my campaign here and now, and I wont be ranking my opponents on either side of the aisle. Because, in the end we aren't really opponents we are all Americans, with differing views on a few political issues. We need to focus on uniting our nation, instead of dividing it, we should be focused on battling climate change, immigration reform, and our failing public school system. Instead of petty political bickering.

Kelly: John Kerry, thanks for being on.

Kerry: My pleasure.

Kelly: And that will be all for tonight. Join us next week when we interview another candidate who did an interview with NBC last year, Senator Lisa Murkowski! Until then, I'm Megyn Kelly.

Carlson: And I'm Tucker Carlson.

Both: And this has been your Election Update!

Announcer: And remember, folks, to tune in to Election Analysis with John Hickenlooper later this week for even more analysis on this exciting race!

Manfred statement in response to the passing of President Carter

I didn’t agree with everything that he did but I respect the man for what he has done.
He served and defended our country in World War II and voluntary has helped people with be able to live in a home and has spread awareness about greeen energy.

He was a bipartisan figure and no matter who you are we shall mourn his loss

Phil Scott Ad #5: Trust

To air in Iowa, South Carolina, and New Hampshire

Quote

(Jackson, Iowa Voter)

"When Phil sat down with me to discuss my small business, I know he was talking the truth, because he owned a small business."

(Jennifer, New Hampshire voter)

When Phil talked about keeping our families safe, I know he means it, cause he has his own kids, and keeps Vermont safe.

(Addison, South Carolina voter)

Governor Scott is the first politician to come around here that I really trust with the future.

Hi, I'm Phil Scott, we must restore trust and accountability in government, too many people no longer trust our government. I want to change that, then we can get to work on the issues that matter. I'm Phil Scott and I approve this message.
