Ron Johnson Remarks in Kenosha

(April 16th, Major Excerpt)

A fiscal conservative direction is what we need. We can grow our economy, reduce our deficit, and create a fairer society if we take that advice. Phil Scott knows that. He did in Vermont. He cut taxes, balanced the budget, created the best state for business in the area, and didn't cut services for the most vulnerable. We can do it in Washington. Look, I'm in Washington almost every day. And to get those results, the fiscal conservative direction, we need Phil Scott. Phil Scott is easily the best candidate for results because he's got those same results before. That's why I'm so proud to support Phil, and that's why I believe that Wisconsin will go to him. Because Wisconsin deserves results!

Lisa Murkowski Runs Ad "Consensus" in WI, IN, WV, DC, and NJ

"This primary has been a debate of ideas, and we've seen each candidate give their vision for America. I'm proud of the incredible competition between friends that has been the Republican primary."

"While the Democrats race to the far left, it's time for Republicans to come to a consensus and rally around Lisa Murkowski. From Iowa, to Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and Utah, Lisa has won a diverse slate of states and united moderates, conservatives, and everyone in between."

"As President, she will keep taxes low and innovation high, protect our second amendment, and keep the government out of the way. Lisa is a maverick, an independent thinker, and completely solution driven, and that's what this country needs."

"She's faced tough odds before, and always perseveres in spite of naysayers. Now, we must prove those naysayers wrong once again and win this primary, then carry the momentum straight to the White House."

Reairing

Phil Scott Ad #10: Doing it Differently

To air in California, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Virginia, and Florida New Jersey, Wisconsin, Indiana, and Washington DC

Quote

Narrator: Partisan Politicians raised taxes and fees in states across the country.

Making Americans pinch every penny just to get by, to fund ineffective, bureaucratic pork programs.  Budgets running massive deficits, and cuts to the most vulnerable.

(Reveal of Phil)

Phil Scott: In Vermont, we did things differently. We cut taxes for everyone, and froze fees and tolls. We balanced our budgets, and investing in people. We brought politicians together to get things done for you.

Phil Scott: I believe that every American deserves low taxes and balanced budgets. And I believe we can do this for the whole country. Let's reach across the aisle, and get things done for you.

"I'm Phil Scott and I approve this message, because I believe my plan is best for taxpayers."

Phil Scott GOTV

Wisconsin

Phil Scott will be in Milwaukee on primary day. He'll be organizing with volunteers and supporters to get their base and known supporters out to vote. Moderates, liberal Republicans, conservatives concerned about taxes, and the supporter network of Ron Johnson. Ron Johnson will also be in Milwaukee getting conservatives out to vote, especially fiscal conservatives. He will meet with undecided conservatives and conservatives Murkowski, winning them over on Phil Scott's pro business and fiscal conservative credentials. John Thune will be in Green Bay organizing conservatives to get out for Scott, emphasizing his fiscal conservative and pro business record.

New Jersey

New Jersey is key to a Scott victory. The Scott campaign believes that a combination of affluent suburban moderates, north eastern Republicans, and rural voters will deliver a victory. The campaign has surrogates to deliver each one of these demographics. Larry Hogan will be in the Morristown courting suburban Republicans. His moderate record and experience campaigning to a similar demographic should prove valuable. Charlie Baker will campaign to "northeastern" moderate Republicans in the southern New Jersey area. Charlie Dent who's district borders the state of New Jersey, will campaign to voters in the Lehigh and Delaware valley on rural issues and creating new prosperity in rural areas, as Phil Scott has often emphasized.

Lisa Murkowski GOTV Efforts

West Virginia

West Virginia has long been a pillar of support for Murkowski, with Shelley Moore Capito building a ground game since her endorsement. Senator Capito will spend her time reaching out to voters that have given her support in her Senate run, and have supported her in her current one. On Election Day, she will spend her time in Charleston, rallying voters on Murkowski's positions on low taxes, energy independence, and support of the second amendment, as well as phone banking and canvassing on the Senator's behalf. She will be joined by Representative Denver Riggleman, who will focus his efforts in Morgantown, rallying young supporters of Lisa Murkowski and libertarian leaning voters.

New Jersey

New Jersey is considered an important state for Lisa Murkowski, and one where the campaign will heavily invest in. The campaign believes that the state's moderate GOP, its numerous suburban voters, and the work of both Murkowski and the campaign's surrogates appearances will be what brings Murkowski to victory here. Representatives Chris Smith and Tom MacArthur will both head turnout operations here, with each primarily focusing on the area covered within their congressional districts, but with both venturing out to rally supporters throughout the state. Chris Smith will target white working class voters, while Tom MacArthur will mostly target suburban and moderate voters. On Election Day, MacArthur will GOTV in Toms River, phone banking and canvassing across the city, whereas Smith will focus on Hamilton Township. Finally, the two will be joined by Senator Pat Toomey from neighboring Pennsylvania, focusing on rallying voters in the region bordering his own state, especially the Northern portion of the state. On Election Day, he will be in Trenton, canvassing for Murkowski and meeting with volunteers in the city.

Wisconsin

On Election Day, Lisa Murkowski will be campaigning in Wisconsin, focusing GOTV efforts in Green Bay. She will focus on moderate voters who have been sympathetic to her message so far. She is joined by Scott Walker, who will be in Milwaukee on Election Day, driving up turnout in the city he served in, highlighting Murkowski's independent record, work on energy security, and support of veterans. Representative Sean Duffy will also barnstorm his district, working to build support in the rural portion of the state, and will be in Wausau on Election Day, working to turn out working class voters who have supported his own elections in the past. Former Senator Mark Kirk will cross over into the state to hold events in Kenosha, and will meet with suburban voters and hold rallies there for Murkowski, working to drive up suburban turnout for her. Governor Kim Reynolds will cross over from Iowa, barnstorming the southwestern portion of the state, also speaking at a Republican Women's event in Madison. She will primarily work to turnout rural, suburban, and female supporters of Murkowski. Finally, Representative Jim Hagedorn will cross over into Wisconsin, and will spend his time primarily in La Crosse, rallying voters there and building support among volunteers.

Indiana

While not viewed as a must win state, the Murkowski campaign will still invest in turnout in Indiana. Senator Rob Portman will cross over from Ohio to barnstorm up and down the border of the two states, spending Election Day in Fort Wayne. Senator Portman will highlight Murkowski's support of the second amendment and focus on low taxes with both moderate and conservative voters in Fort Wayne on Election Day. Jenean Hampton will campaign in the state, focusing on the Louisville suburbs and Evansville. The Lt Governor will focus on both moderate and conservative voters in the area.

Sherrod Brown 2020
Rebuild America.

Campaign Ad: Way of Life.

Quote
- ad opens with scene of empty parking lot, closed factory -

Factory Worker: "I was a steelworker for 30 years here. This factory used to give 1,000 workers good-paying wages, good-paying jobs, honest work, assembling the best automobiles in the world. It's made in America, y'know, that's more than a slogan, it's a way of life. But one day, we all got a pink slip that our jobs had been terminated, when GM decided to shut it down so they could pay their workers $2 or $3 a day overseas."

Quote
- scene cuts to factory worker talking to camera, clips of local community -

"Y'know, it devastated communities like these. We had good jobs, we weren't rich, but it helped me get my daughter through college. And yet, Washington continues to pass all these ridiculous trade pacts and deals that rip off workers like me and destroy communities like these. It's nauseating. The only politician who ever stood up for people like me was Senator Brown."

Quote
- scene cuts to Sherrod Brown in industrial communities, with workers -

"He grew up in an industrial town and never forgot his roots. He voted against NAFTA & CAFTA, he stood up to these trade pacts."

"He's fought against cheating China ripping off American manufacturers, taking on currency manipulation and unfair deals."

"He's fighting for good-paying jobs and rebuilding our crumbling infrastructure, and he's taking on the drug company's price gouging."

"Y'know, if there was one person I trusted to stand up for these communities as President, it'd be Sherrod Brown."

- scene cuts to Sherrod Brown campaign logo & legal information -

VO: "I'm Sherrod Brown & I approve this message."

John Kerry 2020

Campaign Ad: Service

James Rassmann
Quote
John Kerry saved my life... I was thrown overboard, and John ordered his boat to turn around and pick me up, he reached out over the bow of his boat and picked me up out of the water. He deserved a helluva lot more than a Bronze Star. We were under fire, and he risked his own life to save mine. I can tell you that I wouldn't be here today without John Kerry.

John Kerry
Quote
I had already been wounded, and when James was thrown into the water we were under heavy fire from the NVA. He was trying to climb up the cargo net and he couldn't get up. So I got on my knees and lifted him over the bow. James was the real hero there.

James Rassman
Quote
John Kerry has been there, John Kerry has served, I know what I want in a President, and that is service. We lost brothers over there, and the men in Iraq and Afghanistan lost brothers there too. John Kerry is the only veteran in this field, on both sides of the aisle. If you want someone who knows what sacrifice is like, you'll vote for John Kerry. He sacrificed his body to save mine.

Quote
Im John Kerry and I approve this message...

Campaign Schedule.

Constants
Always meet with volunteers, staff after primary victories
Always visit college campuses and meet with campus political groups, both Democratic and non-partisan
Always try to eat lunch at local restaurants, with locals
Always meet with campaign officials & discuss strategy, fundraising, grassroots, social media
Always do research on new small towns, including local leaders, issues, etc. to connect with local voters
Always keep note of who is met, bring them up in future speeches
Always talk to anyone who wants to, no matter who they are or what their political affiliation is

Schedule:
April 16-17: Indiana
April 18-22: Wisconsin
Primary Day: Milwaukee

Indiana (Apr. 16-17)
Hold rallies in Gary & South Bend, with Pete Visclosky & Andre Carson
Visit industrial towns & hold town halls, emphasize protecting U.S jobs
Deliver major policy speech on expanding the child tax credit to $3,000 p/yr
Emphasize wage growth, social safety net, infrastructure investments

"Real family values is not about opposing marriage equality; it's not about discriminating against our gay brothers and sisters to deny them basic benefits and the dignity of marriage. Strong family values comes from giving working families the security to raise their children with dignity and respect. We need to create a country with strong family values, but we need to do it by guaranteeing paid family, sick, and vacation leave. We need to do it by expanding the child tax credit to give working families the safety net that will allow them to give their kids a life even better than their own. We need a strong, moral society by growing wages, guaranteeing healthcare and college, and making certain that America's working families lead the world in economic security. We don't have family values when pharmaceutical companies make a life-saving drug unaffordable. We don't have economic freedom when real median household income has fallen over the past few decades. When we talk about family values, our focus can't be about restricting women's choice or denying our gay brothers and sisters the basic dignity of marriage; it must be about giving working families the opportunity and the security to raise their children and give them a good life."

Wisconsin (Apr. 18-22)
Hold rallies in Madison, Milwaukee, Green Bay, Eau Claire, with Tammy Baldwin
In Milwaukee: emphasize revitalizing city infrastructure & $15 minimum wage
Meet with local Democratic Party organizations, emphasize winning back the midwest
Host special phone-banking session with staff, targeting urban African-Americans
Visit factory workplaces and hold Q&As, stress infrastructure & NAFTA renegotiation

"We know exactly why corporations outsource jobs: low wages and poor labor and environmental standards make it cheaper to do business in other countries. So the best way to stop jobs from going overseas is to require countries to agree to raise their labor and environmental standards before negotiations even begin. These anti-outsourcing protections, which are critical to the dignity of work, should not be up for negotiation. And the United States should not enter into trade agreements with countries who will not agree to these worker protections upfront.

Too many communities in America have seen the consequences of factories shutting down. We know which industries have been hurt by or are sensitive to outsourcing. Unfortunately, American industries in past agreements have been pitted against each other and traded off for other trade agreement provisions in last-ditch efforts to get a deal. We know workers lose when they have to accept the conditions imposed by their employer or risk their jobs being sent overseas. Our trade negotiators should develop plans for sensitive industries in advance of trade talks, and push for agreement provisions that support those sectors and protect them from import surges that will threaten American jobs. In other words, our trade agreements should put workers, not multinational corporate profits, first.

Our trade agreements aren’t worth the paper they’re printed on unless they’re enforceable, and still we have yet to negotiate a trade agreement that has meaningful enforcement mechanisms. If we want our trade agreements to respect the dignity of work, we should take away the special corporate courts our agreements have set up to allow multinational corporations to challenge actions or policies taken by the United States and our trading partners. We should also improve the enforcement process so it doesn’t take too long, allowing countries to continue violating the agreement and undermining the dignity of American workers.

Finally, if we want our trade agreements to put workers first, we should make sure workers are at the table and that the proceedings are more transparent. We can’t allow multinational corporations, who view workers as a budget line item to be minimized, to write an agreement that will help them shift jobs overseas. Our trade policy will respect the dignity of work only if it reflects the input of our workers."

Milwaukee (Primary Day)
Visit diners and restaurants & meet with voters, emphasize wage growth
Meet with local union officials & workers, coordinate GOTV strategy
Join volunteers in GOTV door-to-door & phone-bank campaigning
Hold a major GOTV rally in Milwaukee with Tammy Baldwin & Connie Schultz

"Dignity of work means hard work should pay off for everyone, no matter who you are or what kind of work you do. For too many people across this country, hard work isn't paying off like it should. People, across this country, have shown they're upset with the status quo. In Minnesota, Michigan, New York, and Pennsylvania, they've shown up in droves. In a few weeks, that message will go to the convention. Wisconsin, tell the country that there is dignity in work. Whether you punch a clock, swipe a badge, earn a salary, or make tips, there is dignity in work. That is the central theme of this campaign, and it is what will give this movement victory in November. I've seen the faces of hard-working people across this country who want to build an economy that works for them. It's time to send a message to big business: all labor has dignity. In the words of Martin Luther King Jr: 'Whenever you are engaged in work that serves humanity and is for the building of humanity, it has dignity and it has worth. One day our society must come to see this. One day our society will come to respect the sanitation worker if it is to survive, for the person who picks up our garbage, in the final analysis, is as significant as the physician, for if he doesn’t do his job, disease are rampant.' Wisconsin, send that message."

Surrogate Schedule
Tammy Baldwin: Campaign in Wisconsin, to WC voters
Russ Feingold: Campaign in Wisconsin, to WC voters
Mark Pocan: Campaign in industrial Wisconsin, to WWC voters

Quote from: Jeff Merkley
"We know Sherrod Brown can win in the midwest. We know he can win working people. If this primary is about who's most electable, I'm almost certain Sherrod Brown is winning that contest. He's unapologetically stood for progressive values his entire career, and we know he can win in Ohio because he has. With these new rulings in Ohio and Michigan against gerrymandering, we can finally win back the house on a fair playing field. Sherrod Brown is the Democrat that can do that."

Barack Obama: Appearance in Milwaukee, campaign to African-Americans

Organizational Support

Lisa Murkowski Re-Airs Ad in IN, WV, WI, NJ, and DC

Lisa Murkowski Runs Ad “Mavericks” in Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina, Texas, and North Dakota

“Over the past year, since announcing my run for President, I keep hearing about how I’m a maverick. How I don’t bend to the will of special interests and blaze my own trail based on values, not partisanship. But, I want to tell you who the real mavericks are.”

“They’re the teachers, who feed the young minds of our nation and allow us to remain innovative and nimble.”

“They’re the servicemembers, who have sacrificed so much to keep us safe.”

“They’re the first responders, putting their lives at risk to save ours.”

“And they’re the families living paycheck to paycheck, just trying to put food on the table and live their lives without government intrusion.”

“At the end of the day, that’s what this is all about, our everyday mavericks who just want solutions, not more of the same.”

“I’m Lisa Murkowski and I approve this message.”

CNN Interview with Senator Tammy Baldwin
April 25, 2020

Blitzer: Good evening. I'm Wolf Blitzer, and I'm here with Senator Tammy Baldwin from Wisconsin, an early supporter of Senator Sherrod Brown's presidential bid. Senator, how are you tonight?

Baldwin: I'm good, Wolf. Glad I could help Sherrod win my state a couple nights ago.

Blitzer: Yes, and in doing so preserving his delegate lead. And speaking of that lead, despite expectations, Senator Brown won both Pennsylvania and New York, as well as every state except New Jersey two days ago. Do you believe this will give him enough of a lead to possibly win the nomination quickly at the convention?

Baldwin: Senator Brown has continued to unite working people of all creeds and origins; that’s why he’s won primary after primary, regardless of expectations, and it’s why I’m proud to be a part of it. The people of New York, of Pennsylvania, of Indiana, West Virginia, and, of course, Wisconsin, sent a clear message as to how the Democrats should run their campaign in 2020. We need to run it on how we’re going to rebuild the middle class; how we’re going to respect the dignity of work. That’s what message Democrats nationwide are receiving and I think that that message is going to make my friend, Sherrod Brown, the nominee.

Blitzer: Yes, and on the subject of the general election, questions have arisen about the possibility of foreign intervention in the upcoming election; do you believe this perceived threat is real, or simply fearmongering?

Baldwin: Every election in American history has been certified with integrity and certainty that the results reflected the will of the people. With the emergence of cyber technology and cyber warfare, I think we need to look at making new steps to ensure that our long tradition of election integrity continues, and that’s an issue all ideologies and all parties can agree on.

Blitzer: Indeed; democracy cannot function if people cannot trust that their votes are being counted. And speaking of means by which votes can be discounted, Congressional Democrats now finds themselves in a particularly nice position, as the Supreme Court has ordered the redrawing of congressional district maps in both Ohio and Michigan from their previously pro-Republican gerrymandered states. Do you believe that Senator Brown could add to the likely gains Democrats will make in these states?

Baldwin: Yes, and I think we’re the best shot to take back the White House and Congress. Sherrod Brown and I have won election after election in states that are considered to be growingly Republican; states that voted for Mitt Romney. Our path to victory in 2020 is through working people. Senator Brown’s model in Ohio has won election after election thanks to working families, even when Democrats lose nationwide. We know Sherrod Brown can win in the Midwest, we know we can win back these House districts, we know we can win working people.

Blitzer: Indeed, and Senator Brown has shown that with his key demographics throughout the primaries. Finally, Senator, a more personal question: the Democratic Party has effectively torn itself in three over the course of these primaries; as a progressive senator from a state that went for the President in 2016, do you believe you might be involved in the reformation of the party into a whole, united behind the nominee?

Baldwin: There are real differences in this primary, but we've got to remember this is a contest for the Democratic nomination. When the time comes, we're going to unite behind the nominee. We all want to expand healthcare access, we all want to stop Republican attempts to cut social security and medicare, we all want to raise the minimum wage. Democrats are not as divided as we seem, and if dividing primaries damaged the nominee, we would've never had President Mitt Romney.

Blitzer: Senator Tammy Baldwin, thank you so much for being with us tonight.

Baldwin: My pleasure, Wolf.

Blitzer: And that will be all for tonight. If you live in the District of Columbia, don't forget to go out and vote on May 1, and, regardless of where you live, don't forget to tune in to CNN's coverage of the Democratic and Republican National Conventions, where the nominees for President of the United States will be named. Until then, I've been Wolf Blitzer, and thanks for tuning in.

AMASH CAMPAIGN STATEMENT
"I have decided that the road to the nomination is almost impossible for me to attain at this point in time. Republicans have an important task to hold the White House for the next 4 years, and so I am officially dropping out of the race. All of our states and Territories have voted and I am so proud of how far we have brought our message of liberty. Our country has its best years ahead, and you proved that. I have chosen not to endorse either of my colleagues as of right now, but I promise to give my full support to the winner of the convention battle. I'm so proud of all of my supporters, from the bottom of my heart, thank you." - Justin Amash

(OOC: I had a blast playing my first election game! Thanks, everyone this game was loads of fun! The reason I chose against endorsing one of you is I didn't want to pick the winner after all of the hard work that both of you have put in. Best of luck to both of you and if either of you need a surrogate (or VP Wink) in the general you can hit me up!)

So, is anyone doing GOTV, or should I go ahead and release the DC results so we can move on to the convention stage?
