I think she is doing a good job handling the shutdown so far. Hopefully that remains to be the case (i.e. she doesn't try to cave or go for a fake compromise).

I think she is doing what must be done. She is deadly serious while Trump is busy playing games, exposing his messy "con" side. Evidently he doesn't know how to address a powerful female, one who holds the upper hand like Pelosi does.

She is holding out for respect. She wants this child to grow up so they can do professional business. That's what I see.

Pelosi is a grandmother and has much more patience and tolerance than Trump could ever dream to have. She can wait him out.

Will he learn respect for the other branches of govt, learning in the process that he is not King? Or will he continue making a fool of himself on the grand public stage? He doesn't deserve to be President. Doesn't ever do anything to earn the respect that should come with the office.

Keep it up Nancy. More people are siding with you than with Trump. The Trumpsters are acting blind, deaf and dumb and luckily they are in the minority.

Any Republican looking to become Speaker should bring paper and pencil, go to a classroom, find themselves a desk, and learn from her.

There is nothing "progressive" about Pelosi. The sooner the Democrats kick her to the curb the better

Lean Approve.

Excellent operation, and probably the only remotely competent component of Democratic leadership atm.

A bit of obstacle to better things, but also the only one to try and stop the bleeding.

I don't care.  True progressive know that Pelosi is a status quo, establishment shill.  It isn't heroic to fight against Trump when you have the media lauding every rebuff.  I would consider it brave for Pelosi to work with the President, and actually accomplish some progressive policies.  It's not like Democrats can't accomplish enormous goals with this President.  He's not exactly the type of politician that toes the party line: criminal justice reform, Syria, North Korea, TPP, infrastructure spending, paid leave, women in STEM, DACA, etc.

I could envision a number of liberal executive decisions that could give Trump an edge in 2020.  That's what really matters here.  Would you really approve of Nancy Pelosi if it results in a Trump victory in 2020?  I imagine that's the real determining factor.

She's a pragmatist and she will cut a deal, just like she did with TARP and funding Iraqi troops when the Dems took over during the Dubya years.

No they shouldn't, Republican leadership in a House majority should remain incompetent. It's for the good of the country.

To the degree that she is resisting Trump’s unpopular demands and holding the Democratic Party together, I approve.

To the degree that she is holding back progressive politicians and policy ideas, I disapprove.
