Which blue/red state would you be okay with "losing" to the other party? Discount the number of electoral votes and base your decision on ideological factors/political demographics.

What states can we consider 'Democratic' or 'Republican'?  Are we looking at 2016 presidential election results primarily?  What factors (to the OP) determine a state's political allegiance?

I'd say New Jersey, but if it were Republican all the blue avatars would be putting it down here. Guess I'll go with Delaware then.

Glad someone else on the right agrees!

Michigan (mainly because I prefer the coalitions of ~2004-2012 to the ones that are emerging).  Alaska would be an underrated possibility, as would Montana, due to the secular natures of the states.  The one that I would take from the Democrats would be New Mexico (as well as sure-ing up Georgia, Arizona, Texas, and Florida).

Does DC count? Tongue

If not then Vermont. If it's an exchange then Vermont for either Texas or Ohio, not sure which is the better exchange.

Virginia, because it's not progressive, and it would allow the D party to move left.

and net the GOP 50 EV as well.

To be fair I think you should have to choose a state with similar EV so I would exchange WV for OR

I think swapping OH for VA would lead to me liking both the resulting Democrats and Republicans more.

Good choice, in that case I would probably prefer Nevada or New Mexico though.

The southwest is the promised land.
