A relevant question in light of Trump's collusion (and possibly conspiracy) with Putin and the Russian government, and the Republican Party's seeming acceptance of it.

The party under which Iran-Contra, 9/11, Tora Bora, and Iraq didn't happen.

These days Democrats for obvious reasons, though I would have said Republicans before 2016, and it will probably be them again if someone from the clueless anti-internationalist wing of the Democratic party gets in in 2020.

The one that didn't overwhelmingly vote for the Patriot Act and its extension, the Authorisation for Use of Military Force Against Terrorists, multiple National Defense Authorisation Acts, and the recent $716 billion military budget

Oh wait...

It was the Republicans until 2016. Since then it's actually the Democrats. Bleh.

It wasn't a Democratic President who ignored warnings about Al-qaeda planning to attack American targets

Democrats now for obvious reasons. Pre-Trump I would have thought it was about a tie but probably would have said the Republicans if forced to choose.

I don't want to politicize security, but to answer the question.

Democrats, easy.
Democrats didn't sell weapons to Iran.
Democrats didn't arm Taliban in Afghanistan
There is more

EDIT: Yes I'm aware Democrats have done messed up things to, but they are more Trumpy examples as well.

LOL, I love Landslide Lyndon-style sizzling burn responses on these.  A simple “Democrats” will do, bro.

The shipment of arms to Iran through Israel began almost immediately after the fall of the Shah in 1979 and continued for many years before Iran-Contra, the CIA provided aid to the Taliban in 1996, and under the Carter administration the CIA also funneled tens of millions of dollars to the Mujahideen

GOP all the way. Remember when Reagan killed Qaddafi's daughter on her wedding day? That's how you strike back against an enemy. No remorse.

The reports about Gaddaffi's daughter's death are generally assumed to be Libyan propaganda in an effort to discredit the U.S. air strike.

In any case, the Gaddafi daughter which supposedly was killed in the air strike was claimed to be an infant and hence couldn't have been killed on her wedding day.

It's somehow telling that proganada lies which were designed to make U.S. foreign policy look bad and evil are not only believed by you, but are also considered a reason to cheer. But I guess that makes you all the more THE archetypal Trump voter.

This, plus having a treasonous president.

The one that isn't the Republicans, but as with all issues there is no "good" choice.

National security is a misleading buzzword in this day and age. Both parties are responsible for the "war on terror", and while the GOP started it, the Democrats expanded it beyond comprehension. A real attack on this country is virtually impossible in the nuclear age and we should be grateful for that instead of playing endless chess.
