Let's be completely honest here, if she gets a decent amount of support, it'll ONLY be because of the boxes she checks for sjw Democrats, not because of anything she's done in her career.

Voters don't base their decisions on candidates' résumés--just ask Hillary Clinton.  The question is whether Harris can demonstrate the superior character and judgment people want in a president.

Racist voters: *are racist and sexist*
Populist Democrats: oh no we need to nominate a white male to win, a black woman would be identity politics!
Racist voters: *remain racist and sexist*
Populist Democrats:

This thread is funny. Acting as if nominating a white male who NEVER speaks about issues that disproportionally affect women and non-white people that he will get within spitting distance of the White House. Newsflash: The 90’s are over.

Uh clinton spoke about abortion

Let's be completely honest here, any woman who runs for anything is ONLY winning because she's an SJW female Democrat who didn't work hard at all for where she is at now.

It's not her position on economic issues that is why I'm against her. It's her authoritarian position on criminal justice issues that makes me and many other progressives not want to support her. We don't need Michael Bloomberg running for the democratic nomination.
And yes, nominating a white person might not win us Iowa or Ohio, but that's not the point. Stuff like Kenosha/Erie that was Dem 2012-GOP 2016-Dem 2018 is going to flip back to the r's if we nominate someone like her. Most Obama-Trump voters, like RFKfan and others have pointed out, are racist! They're not going to vote for a black woman from CALIFORNIA. I think Harris can win the general but her path will involve Suburban Romney-Clinton dems in Southeast PA(Maxing out Bucks/Chester), Arizona, FL, Georgia, NC, and TX.

If the Democrats want to double down on the virtue signaling cultural wars while doing nothing to help ordinary people, this is their candidate.

The Republicans make cultural wars out of it. The "solution" would be only nominate white male candidates. Not that it would bother me having a white male, but it's absurd. Competence, authenticity and values should count.

The path to winning is through Democratic trending suburbs and Harris is one of the candidates who can do that. Democrats who won statewide in Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin by running up score in heavily Democratic areas and chipping away are suburban margins. No matter who the nominee is they have to adapt to the new map.

It becomes less cool when you consider that she chose the day because she knows she won't get support for any reasons other than being a black woman.

That's the path any Democrat is going to have to take.  Democratic success in 2018 was so widespread because the election was about Trump, full stop.  Not Trump vs anyone else--just Trump.  Alternatively, 2020 will unavoidably be about the choice between Republican and Democrat, Right and Left--it doesn't matter whom the nominee is.  And, given that choice, rural voters are always going to vote for the Republican Right.  If Democrats are to win going forward, it's going to increasingly be through the suburbs and the Sun Belt.

Yeah, I fail to see how this is more reasonable than us saying her record as California's Attorney General means we wont be supporting her campaign.

Not in 2008 , Obama was clearly considered the more SJW candidate compared to Hillary and if Amy Klobacher for example runs this year she wouldn’t be a SJW candidate either .

I don't know if her logo is final, but the current version smells of the early 2000s and I have no problem with that.

It's true that profiles do appeal to people's voting preferences, but do not assume that Trump would automatically defeat her if she was the nominee because he's a great white man that she is trying to rob of the Presidency.

This. She can win Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania through the widening gender gap and increased millennial and black turnout, keep Florida competitive, and put Arizona, Georgia, and North Carolina in play.

She doesn't need to. No Democratic candidate outside of maybe Sherrod Brown or Joe Biden is winning Ohio.

She just needs to run up the score in the suburbs in Michigan to win. She doesn't need to win the "white working class".

The path to the WH in 2020 for Democrats is to have the same map as Hillary in 2016 plus Michigan, Pennsylvania & Wisconsin. That's it. As long as the Democratic candidate doesn't ignore those states, then they should likely win those states. Wisconsin is the only one that should kind of worry Dems.
