Yang passed Mayor Pete in a HarrisX/Hill poll yesterday, 5-4

Pete's time has come and gone, I think. Theoretically he could still have another surge between now and Iowa, but it's looking more like a footrace between Warren, Biden, and Sanders at this point. I don't necessarily think Pete should drop out because if he can place top 5 in IA/NH/NV he may have a legitimate case to stay in a little longer but he should be angling to be Warren's VP at this point.

I'm still planning to vote for him at this point.  The stronger a showing he has, the stronger a case he can make for being picked as VP and Biden will probably win the Ohio primary either way.  Buttigieg would make a phenomenal President even if we have to wait a cycle or two.
Yeah. Realistically, it was always a long shot that he would get the nomination in 2020. A strong showing increases his chances of getting VP or a spot in the next cabinet and sets him up for 2024/2028.

It seems Mayor Pete was 'white knighting' Biden when Castro went after him, which is evidence that he's angling for a spot in a future Democratic administration.

No he was literally just saying it’s stupid to waste time bickering about who’s crazier when there’s actual issues to talk about

Granted, I think this says more about Harris’ campaign than it does about Pete’s.

Buttigieg's percentage has gone up about 2 points in the RCP average in the last fortnight, not a tremendous surge but seems good for him.

Slow but steady wins the race more often than not.

Tbf Warren's got the dynamic too and she's got a better starting position.

I'm not disputing Warren's advantages.  However, I think Pete has more electable.

Desticking this due to overall lack of commentary on the candidate in question.

I thought it was based on polling, not commentary. If it's the latter, Gabbard and Yang should definitely have stickied threads, lol.

This. Just because we’re not actively discussing Pete’s every move doesn’t mean he doesn’t deserve a stickied thread lol

Accurate. Interesting candidates should get stickied. Boring a-holes like Beto and Butt should get booted off.

Exactly.  Plus, he's surging in the polls again and is starting to nibble at Bernie's heels.  He deserves to stay stickied.

That Buttigieg rarely does things worth discussion is why his campaign isn't going places.

If you're not comfortable calling John Brown a progressive because he participated in a war against a great moral evil, what does that make someone who volunteered to go to war in Afghanistan?

Given violence was provably less successful than various peaceful tactics in the struggle for civil rights in America... I don't think it's an entirely clear cut moral issue.

That said, John Brown couldn't have known that in his time and I would still consider him a hero and, obviously, a progressive.

We kind of have a lot of stickied threads as is but I could assemble a megathread on some down time.

Please also de-stick the Harris thread, as she's in no better position than Pete ...

At this point, only the Top-3 should have their threads until something bigger changes.
