Even the Anti-Bernie crowd has to admit no candidate in history has had so much excitement over their announcement.

It’s ALL OVER Facebook, and Bernie is smashing records left and right.

I love Sanders but someone as terrible as you being so enthusiastic for him is turning me off and making me ashamed of my support.

Great. What will it take for you to burn your bumper stickers? Should I endorse him too?

I'm glad he's running. Bernie's candidacy should be allowed to collapse on its own and not be the result of intimidation from the establishment.

LMAO at you implying the establishment is gonna behave this time. Anyone who dares question Wall Street Kamala gets intimidated by the neoliberal cult here on Atlas.

It actually seems like it will at least be fairer this time. Candidates like Yang and Delaney will be allowed on the debate stage, and super delegates have little to no effect now.

Bernie once again trying to court the elusive "White working class" is exactly why he lost the primary in 2016 not because it was rigged.

Focusing on predominantly White and very rural states and not focusing on the base of Democratic Party combined with the fact that there are much more candidates running is exactly why Bernie's campaign will fail just like it did in 2016.

I can't wait to never have to here about Bernie Sanders ever again. It will be a blessing!

Or Bernie can just scoot by winning 30-40% of the vote in states while Booker, Harris, Klobuchar, Biden and O'Rourke all eat away at each other.

(pssst, it's how Trump won the GOP primary in 2016)

Reading this thread you’d think Bernie Sanders would be calling for blacks to be put in prison if elected. He’s an Old Left politician at the end of the day with a successful track record of getting stuff done. Yes, his supporters are annoying but said supporters are not the candidate this cycle; Bernie is. You don’t have to like him but unless you strongly oppose his policies, there’s no reason to hate him IMO.

Literally the worst that happens is, Dems lose again and best thing that could happen is Dems do better in red states and the country de-polarizes some.

It's not gonna work that way. There are a lot of anti-Bernie Democrats that will consolidate to not let that happen.

Bernie has a >80% favorability rating amongst Democrats. Even Democrats who don't support him mostly like him.

Because he's more racist than the GOP and he threatens the 1% unlike their anointed sacred cows.

That doesn't even work that way. The #NeverBernie crowd that you might see on Twitter is a pretty vocal minority just like the Bernie Bros.

When he leaves office in 2029, sure.

As much as I love Bernie, some of y'all are getting a bit ahead of yourselves here. he literally just announced he's running, let's not pretend he's a shoo-in to win the nomination, let alone the general election.

There are no winner take all states and highly doubt all those candidates are relevant after Super Tuesday. Beto and Harris will wipe out everyone that night. Warren May be able to hang on but that’s it.

Chicken sh**t Biden isn’t running. He can’t legitimately defend his right wing beliefs.

If Biden is able to win the South and Harris does well in the big, urban states like California and Illinois, that's probably enough vote-splitting to let Sanders get nominated off 30-50% pluralities in states like Ohio and North Carolina.

I wonder if Warren will be forced to attack Sanders, since she'll have to take a decent chunk of his supporters to become the progressive choice. Bernie would not even attack Hillary so it's unlikely he'll go after her.

I looked at Bernie's platform and basically it's the same as almost all of the other Democratic candidates.

Why is Bernie different? What makes him special?

He's just an egotistical and narcissistic old man that will NEVER be President no matter how hard he tries.

Please. I'm a troll because I don't like Bernie?

You're gonna be surprised to see how Bernie's campaign crashes and fails like it did in 2016.

You’re a troll because you can ask with a straight face how Sanders platform is different from, for instance, Joe Biden or Cory Booker or Amy Klobuchar.

And for dismissing the candidate with perhaps, as of right now, the best chance at becoming the Democratic nominee (in an obviously crowded and chaotic field).

Sanders isn't necessarily all that different on the issues than a lot of Democrats, it's just his delivery that appeals to his supporters. He makes guarantees and that is what people want to hear.
