1. Crowds obviously don’t equal votes. HRC ‘16 supporters have said this for the longest.
2. I like how some people use this argument specifically for Bernie, but will be the first ones to boast about crowd sizes for Beto, Harris, and probably Biden when he runs, lol.

Bernie is campaigning in the Safe D states, while Beto is campaigning in the swing and sometimes even Likely R states.

Who's a better campaigner?

The one campaigning in the states you need to win to be the nominee in the first place, which includes CA.

This also isn’t even true, BTW.

The same people who go on about Beto's and Harris' crowd sizes endlessly (most notably her town hall ratings) then turn around and say that Sanders' crowd sizes don't matter.

This is an illogical argument.

There is a huge crowd in Bernie's rally in LA  today. It has to be the one of the biggest in this primary season so far.

Bernie is one of the best candidates in this race imo, I like him and Warren a lot more than everyone else. However Bernie seems to be the more electable candidate (perhaps the most electable of any candidate in the field) so I'm starting to lean towards backing him. It'll be interesting to see how the campaign goes.

Bernie's weekend in California ends with some very respectable numbers. 6.400 in San Diego, 15.000 in LA and 16.000 in San Francisco.

How are Harris' and Beto's rallies go outside of their home states?

Beto hasn’t had a conventional rally yet since announcing. His first ones are in El Paso, Houston and Austin next Saturday. Home state, though.

No idea on Harris.

All we see in IA is a small Bernie lead which is in Margin of error.  The word socialist will be placed on even Harris, but even moreso Bernie. Trump hasnt scrutinized him yet

I wouldn't expect Iowa to vote in line with the nation, if Iowa is very close Bernie has probably won.

Great point.

However, KH hasn't had a rally bigger than 3,000 since.

I must have missed the part were Oakland left California. Because that was my point to begin with, that she does draw in comparison mediocre crowds outside her home state. And seriously if Bernie gets 75% of the crowd size she had at her first rally in her home state that wouldn't be something I would brag about if I was a Harris supporter.

They brag about polls where she’s in single digits... what do you expect?  Talk about a personality cult!

Let's talk when us fans of Senator Harris turn around and vote for Trump or the Green Party.

Link? I know he's trying to hit a million by Sunday, but I haven't seen current numbers anywhere.

If we go by his normal average donation of 27$ that's more than 20 million $.

Charming.

Still, significant enough numbers of Sanders supporters didn't vote Democrat in 2016. And a significant enough share of them continue to act as Trump's useful idiots.

There are always people who vote for a runner-up primary candidate and then turn around and vote for the opposite party in the general election. The fact is, however, that post-election surveys show that there were a lot (both in raw numbers and proportionally) more Hillary-> McCain voters in 2008 than Sanders-> Trump voters in 2016. If you want to castigate the specific Sanders voters who didn't vote for Hillary in the general, fine-- but there was nothing unique about Sanders voters generally speaking.  They weren't any more likely than usual to defect to the other party.

That doesn't mean that grouping Sanders supporters who did vote for Hillary (the vast majority) in with them is justified.
