If Howard Schultz, the former CEO of Starbucks, were to run for President as an independent, who is his best running mate? I ask because it seems difficult for an independent to get someone credible who matches their message, and isn't afraid of burning bridges with the Democrats and Republicans.

Kasich- would lend valuable political experience, clearly wants to continue his career but has no current future in either party

Kasich, Hickenlooper, Flake, or Bloomberg are the only politicians I can see agreeing to do it.

Joe Lieberman. He brings 18 years of DC experience to the table, and it's not like he'd have anywhere to go in either party.

Mayor McCheese.  Pretty balanced ticket.  I mean who hasn't been in either a Starbucks or a McDonald's?

If Schultz announces a run for president, the Internet Research Agency will start a whole new division to push his candidacy to liberal/ Democratic voters.  So, the answer to your question is, whoever gets the most mentions from unsuspecting naive deluded Americans who respond to the IRA's troll posts from St. Petersburg.

Love it.  Schultz will get the coastal latte liberals; mccheese will get the heartland red-blooded conservatives

Are you sure Col. Sanders wouldn't be a more populist choice?

Howard Schultz / Michael Bloomberg

Two arrogant billionaires with no new ideas

They can both pat themselves on the back and pretend it's still the 90s while advancing a platform that would be of little tangible benefit to working class voters in the long run.

I was going to suggest Bozo the Clown but I think Bozo's too qualified compared to this option. So yes, ditto.

I agree that he would need someone with some form of political experience, be it a governor, senator or whatever but even with that it seems the best he could possibly do excluding something crazy happening is like ~10%

Someone like Kasich, Flake or Corker would obviously add real gravitas - but I can’t see why any of them would do it. Realistically, the best he could get is someone like David Jolly.

Definitely either Colonel Saunders or Ronald McDonald.

For a Gastronomic America.

But seriously - he would need somebody with an R after their name to broaden his appeal.  Schultz/Hogan?

At least Bloomberg has said it’s a stupid idea and has put millions into stopping gun violence

Bloomberg explicitly said that he would not run as an independent/third party candidate or support anyone who would do so: https://www.mikebloomberg.com/news/mike-bloomberg-statement-independent-run/
