His best running mate would be Charlie Baker, but there's no reason for Charlie to give up 3 more years as Massachusetts Gov.

If we're talking best possible running mate, getting Brian Sandoval to hop back in to politics might work.

His entire strategy appears to be winning over conservatives who hate Trump but would vote for him anyway (which explains why the Dem pushback to him has been so loud and so focused on "he gets Trump re-elected" - helps brand him as the shy Trump voter candidate). For this reason his best bet for a veep would probably be Corker to add national security/foreign affairs cred to the ticket.
