Howard Schultz / Michael Bloomberg

Two arrogant billionaires with no new ideas

They can both pat themselves on the back and pretend it's still the 90s while advancing a platform that would be of little tangible benefit to working class voters in the long run.

At least Bloomberg has said itís a stupid idea and has put millions into stopping gun violence

Bloomberg explicitly said that he would not run as an independent/third party candidate or support anyone who would do so: https://www.mikebloomberg.com/news/mike-bloomberg-statement-independent-run/

His best running mate would be Charlie Baker, but there's no reason for Charlie to give up 3 more years as Massachusetts Gov.

If we're talking best possible running mate, getting Brian Sandoval to hop back in to politics might work.

I agree that he would need someone with some form of political experience, be it a governor, senator or whatever but even with that it seems the best he could possibly do excluding something crazy happening is like ~10%
Would a military veteran work?

There has to be a General or Admiral who would dislike Trump and Elizabeth Warren or Kamala Harris or whoever Democrats nominate.

Clay Bennett, since he fleeced the Sonics from Seattle with Schultz's help.

Otherwise, either a moron, someone desperate for publicity or both.

His entire strategy appears to be winning over conservatives who hate Trump but would vote for him anyway (which explains why the Dem pushback to him has been so loud and so focused on "he gets Trump re-elected" - helps brand him as the shy Trump voter candidate). For this reason his best bet for a veep would probably be Corker to add national security/foreign affairs cred to the ticket.
