Hassan is a trailblazer like Shaheen, its only a matter of time should Dems hold all levers of NH

This puts even more pressure on MI Republicans to nominate a serious candidate against Peters since MI and AL are really their only pick-up opportunities and they probably need to flip both with the 2022 map in mind.

Great news! Tossup to Lean D(possibly Likely if Republicans can't get a  good candidate, though Ayotte vs Shaheen would be somewhat competitive).

I guess Ayotte would be a decent fallback plan for Republicans, but the bench starts to get incredibly thin after that.

That's a huge relief. Shaheen is not an invincible titan, but Their bench there is VERY thin

This is certainly interesting, also the fact that he quickly issued this, shows that he does not want to throw cold water on it, yet. Ayotte would be a strong candidate for whichever office Sununu does not run for, I don’t know of she’s interested, but then again, at the beginning of this cycle, Sununu was insistent on remaining Governor, in that above statement, he even floated retirement, so who knows what will happen, by the summer-fall, we will probably know what’s going on here

We knew Sununu was out for a few months, and Ayotte would not beat Shaheen, or Hassan for that matter. Unless Ayotte finds herself against Hassan in a big red-wave, she won't win.

I hear speculation that POTUS Trump is pushing NH Governor Chris Sununu (R) to run for the United States Senate in 2020.

Like I said earlier, a vacant guberatorial seat would only help down ticket Dems, Dems would win the governorship, both House seats and Shaheen is already leading Sununu.  This isnt 2014, where Scott Brown almost upset Shaheen

If Sununu doesn’t run, this is firmly in the Likely D column. Shaheen won’t lose unless Trump wins NH by at least 2-3%.

I think Ayotte will run for something

I think if Sununu runs for Senate, she can jump into the Governor's race (Tossup Sen, Tilt D Gov)

If Sununu runs for reelection, Ayotte can run for Senate (Lean R Gov, Tilt/Lean D Sen)

Also someone like Jeb Bradley or Charlie Bass, could always make a comeback

Also NH is a Tossup, and the winner of the state in the presidential will drag their party's candidate to victory, Shaheen is not strong, because she won in 2014, she faced a MA carpetbagger, who as late as March 2013, was contemplating running for Sen in MA, also the NRSC really did not take the race seriously until late, and it was too little, too late, for Scott Brown.

I say this is the best pickup opportunity except for AL, and MI is very close behind

Hell yeah!

Honestly he is probably banking on Trump losing in 2022 then challenging Hassan.

In which case the Dems need to throw the kitchen sink at the governor election to try and make sure that's not a possibility.

Anyway, taking a vulnerable seat more or less off the board is obviously very good news for Dems.

I agree, I'd enjoy seeing her lose again. Likely D either way.
