A law like this already exists.

Just pointing it out for transparency, the sponsor is aware of this after I pointed it out to him (but he had  written the bill already).

What was the point of tabling? To create confusion for when the sponsor adjusts his bill (either through an amendment or if tabled a new bill)?

This amendment makes some needed changes to the original law. Under the original act, fathers were only guaranteed 2 weeks of paid parental leave; that has been increased to parity with mother's under this act. In addition, small businesses will have to shoulder less of the cost of parental leave.

Workers are also guaranteed medical leave and paid vacation under this Act, too. I have several more additions in the works. Feel free to make comments and suggestions on this amended bill.

I support this bill. Parental leave is a right that all employees deserve, be they male or female. Also, the amendment effectively eliminates the unnecessary sections already covered in 2017's Family and Education Support Act.
