Obviously, Northam was raised a racist hick, but he moved away from that over the years. so no.  If the Perriello campaign had found the picture, then he could have been Gov today.

It's concerning how people think a picture like this would help a candidate with anyone except a handful of racist lunatics. There wouldn't be one county that would swing to him, and any gain of voters would be lost by a wave of one's who would be turned off by this.

What part of Virginia is Northam from? He has a noticeable Southern twang. T-Mac, Kaine and Warner don't have twangs.

Eastern Shore, and he's the only one of the four who's actually a Virginia native. McAuliffe grew up in Syracuse, Kaine in Kansas City, and Warner in Connecticut.

This forum does go a bit overboard with the rural racism thing. I remember in 2011 people here saying Obama would win WV & MS against Herman Cain because conservatives would not turn out to vote. Scott did far better with SC whites than Graham in 2014.
