If Warren, Harris or someone else is nominated, the running mate should be from the Midwest.

Dark horse candidate. But could go unnoticed for most of the race.

One of my favorite democrats. Isn’t boring and stable what our country needs? Don’t most presidents get succeeeded by someone who lacks their biggest flaw? Bush was moral unlike Clinton. Clinton was young and in touch unlike HW. Obama was polished and charismatic unlike Bush.

She'd be a great "first do no harm" VP pick.

She'll never win the primary. She's relatively boring and uncharismatic.

The only reason why some of you are supporting her is because she's from Minnesota. That's just lame.

AT BEST, she'll get picked to be Vice President. However, why would she want to give up being Minnesota's senior senator to be Vice President? I can understand why Joe Biden did it (he was old and ran for President before but lost, so it was close as it gets) but why would Klobuchar do it?

Otherwise, she'll be a Cabinet Secretary. However, she's already an effective low-key Senator.

Her big problem is that few know her. I barely know her, and I don't see what lane she has that hasn't already been taken.

Amy Klobuchar is the very definition of inoffensive generic Democrat. The country isn’t ready for such a candidate. They elected Trump as a rebuke of people like Klobuchar. Though she does actually pay lip service to bread and butter voters, her record in Congress is indistinguishable. She’s way more personal and likeable than her other colleagues and probably would do ok in a Trump/Clinton-less version of 2016, but times have changed.

She’ll be out after Iowa, but she’ll learn from it and come back when the country’s mood stabilizes.

LOL, as if that's ever happening. It's all downhill from here.

In terms of electability she is the worst. She will lose to Trump by a huge margin because she is unelectable super low energy, is uninspiring & a charisma vacuum. Even Gabbard who is a terrible candidate may be better than her.

If people want a Corporate neoliberal female candidate, they might as well pick Kamala Harris who is way better than Klobuchar.

"Anybody but Bernie Sanders is unelectable because I SAY SO!"

It’s sad to think that this poster might be getting paid by the Sanders campaign to peddle these arguments. Even sadder is the thought that he’s doing all this for free.

Pretty boring and uncharismatic, not really what we need against Trump. Maybe she will wow me during the primary, but I dont have high hopes for her.

This although she seems like a decent enough Senator.

I could back Klobuchar.  Maybe not my top choice in the primary, but in the top 2 or 3.

I really like Klobuchar on paper, but the stories of how she treats her staff are horrific and disqualifying. I definitely couldn’t support her in the primary for that reason.

She's super boring and way too corporate.  Of the establishment, corporate-friendly choices, I actually think she is the worst and Harris is by far the best.  Harris was magnetic and strong in her town hall when advocating for certain progressive positions.

I actually would like to see her leave the Senate seat (more likely for a Cabinet position or maybe VP) just so Peggy Flanagan can be appointed to it. Peggy is so awesome.

That's all I could find on google. While it does raise some question about the reasons why her staff turnover is so high (and even that, it doesn't even seem THAT high compared to the highest staff turnover in the House which is around .65 IIRC), I would hardly call that disqualifying in itself, unless there are actual reports of bad behaviour which the op seemed to hint at.

I'll admit I'm a bit surprised. I didn't think she would run.

I'm with you on this, Abe.  I'm not shocked she's joining the race, but I am surprised.  She doesn't stand much of a chance of winning.  Maybe she's angling for a veep nod or a cabinet position?

It's not just "the Democratic Party" though.  Klobuchar is notably more hawkish than everyone else in the 2020 Dem. field, even (like Hillary Clinton at one point) having been in favor of a no fly zone in Syria.

Gillibrand also co-sponsored the "Free" Syria Act with her.

She's par for the course for most Dems. Not that that's a good thing.

Gillibrand, unlike Klobuchar, voiced skepticism of the US being involved in Syria at all by 2015:

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/sen-gillibrand-obamas-syria-strategy-wont-work-long-term/

Gillibrand also sounded ambivalent about the US mission in Libya back in 2011:

https://observer.com/2011/03/on-libya-gillibrand-and-nadler-sound-different/

And of course, Gillibrand, like the majority of Senate Dems, was critical of both of Trump's attacks on the Assad regime for chemical weapons use, while Klobuchar called it "the right thing to do".

Klobuchar also voted for the anti-BDS bill, while nearly all of the other 2020 Dems voted against it.  None of the others running or looking to run for prez in 2020 are as hawkish as her, as far as I can tell.

Gillibrand do what is base for her career at that moment remember her stance on guns

She's pretty inoffensive, and would be a "safe" pick, but that might not be what Democrats really need right now.

I guess "safe" in the way that Hillary out did Dewey in running a "safe" campaign.
