The outlines of it do seem to already be fairly clear, though there'll always be a couple people who just don't make it expected to be serious candidates (Gillibrand '20 as an excellent example) and a couple of people who come out of nowhere (Buttigieg '20 being another excellent example).

There does seem to be an unusually large number of people who are quite clearly gunning to be the immediate post-Trump nominee and are very plausible: Pence, Haley, Paul, DeSantis, Cruz, Cotton. There are a couple more who might struggle to be taken seriously but are clearly fancy themselves legitimate contenders, like Hurd or Hawley.

2024 will be a battle for the fate of the Republican Party. Right now, they are at a crossroads of Trump's populist party (which I believe is somewhat center-left economically and solidly right socially) and the traditional free-market supply-side party.

Hogan presents himself as the Republican antithesis to Trump. He runs as an old-style Rockefeller Republican.

Some of the rising stars elected statewide last year or next year will hold off till their chances are better- most of them know it's hard to get a third or fourth term for your party.

Mike Pence
Nikki Haley
Ron De Santis
Josh Hawley
Tom Cotton
Ted Cruz

There are likely to be contenders who aren't very serious, the equivalents of Tom Ryan, Eric Swalwell, Wayne Messam and Richard Ojeda in the Democratic primary, so they get harder to predict.

Pence, Cotton, and Haley are the most likely.

Ben Carson, Joni Ernst, Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz, too. I imagine a lot of former Tea Partiers like them run.

I would love to see Tom Cotton win the nomination, since he's dumb as a brick and lacks Trump's ability to charm the masses.

Also, I think that by 2024 Trump fatigue will be at maximum levels, and a more diverse electorate with fewer Boomers will make things very difficult for a Trump acolyte to win. The GOP can remain in the clutches of far-right nationalism and get blown out, or they can return to reality and expand their appeal.

There is one candidate who could bridge the gap from Trumpism to traditional, movement conservatism, retaining a strong base during the pivot: Mike Pence.
