Assuming Biden jumps in the race, is Obama basically compelled to endorse him?

When would this potentially happen and in his heart, who do you think he wants to win the nomination?

Obama probably wants Beto because they are both 100% corporate puppets and media creations.

Obama is not endorsing anyone. He is not compelled to do anything for Biden.

He probably is rooting for Harris.

Yeah, I don't see Obama endorsing in the primary.

I expect that he’ll wait until after the primaries to endorse whoever the nominee is like he did in 2016 despite the fact that he clearly favored Hillary the entire time.

All signs honestly point to Kamala right now.

He won't endorse until someone secures the nomination. With that said, I think Biden and Harris are his top choices, and this is a little off topic, but IMHO, I think in his heart of heart Obama would've preferred Biden as his handpicked successor in 2016 than Hillary, but he knew that wasn't gonna happen so he talked Biden out of running.

No, Obama has strong ties to Bay Area and he likes Harris, too. Obama visits Oakland and Warriors quite often

There is no way he's publically endorsing anyone before the convention.

This. Or at least until someone becomes the prospective nominee

If Biden didn’t ever enter? I have to imagine he’d support Castro. Obama’s the one who basically ran a whisper campaign of “Castro for Veep” throughout the DNC back in 2016.

Obama should just endorse Trump so we can watch whatever the reaction to that would be.

He won’t endorse with a field this large. Although he likes Biden and would never endorse against him my guess is that someone else (Harris?) is his first choice.
