Yes. And non-Papist Irish ancestry, which is why my grandmother was disowned by her parents when she married my grandfather! She never converted to the papism, though, and never attended a Catholic service.

Meaning a Roman Catholic? Yes.  I'm mostly Irish, on my father's side.  It seems as though my family is descended from Brian Boru, an ancient king of Ireland.  The name "Boru" eventually evolved into my family name (per sources at the Gaelic American Club of Fairfield, CT).

Almost definitely not. What's a Papist anyways? A standard Catholic? Because if so then I'm 100% of Papist ancestry I guess; just not Irish.

No.  I have a substantial Scotch-Irish component in my ancestry, but as I understand it, they actually came from the English side of the border, so I'm not sure if they're Scotch, and they're really not Irish, and of course, they ain't papists.

whats the difference between Parpist Irish and regular Irish?

Papist Irish = Catholic Irish. Scotch-Irish and other Irish Protestants would be the regular Irish here (though given about 85% of the Republic is Catholic and a significant chunk of Northern Ireland is.....)
