His parents are politically active members of the Republican National Convention, and the mother says that they like to keep their children aware of their political stance.
The mother also told the media: “People think he’s brainwashed," and “Well, of course, he supports Trump because we do, and he hears how we talk and this and that. Call that brainwashing, but I call it parenting, because we instill our values in him.”

I don't think the parents should be involving their 7-year old child into such a controversial topic as "The Wall" and putting him out there in the public as a spectacle to their beliefs.
Let children be children (especially at 7 years old).
The child has already been labeled as a "Little Hitler" by some people, and they are putting him out there for abuse by other kids and possibly even harm from adults. In my opinion, they are not only failing to protect their child, but deliberately putting him in direct (possible) danger.

I think he should be allowed to skip school while doing this too. He's a child and he's doing something for his generation's future. It's not too late to change things, but politicians have to wake up! We should cherish his political engagement and not ask ourselves any more questions: clearly he is right since he's a child, and you're an awful person if you oppose his actions and his goals.

That's what this forum would say if he were standing there for "climate change", after all.

1)  Insist that they agree with your politics and indoctrinate them as such

or

2)  Teach them that every person should learn about politics and come to their own conclusions, even if it still means that they follow their parents at age 7.  Chances are they'll learn from it and think for themselves later on.

Very true. However I can see some good objections to the fact that this seven-year-old is being taught in irrational fear of immigrants, as previously pointed out. The fact that that seems perfectly okay too many of our posters here is, well, neither surprising nor encouraging.
