As for "identity politics," see how well that works out for him (again) in the South when the primaries come around. If he can't win more voters of color, in particular, this time around then his path towards the nomination hasn't improved much since 2016.

I'm pretty confident most Southern blacks don't view as their top priorities the same things Tumblrites raving about "cisgender privilege" talk about, probably don't state their pronouns in conversation, don't freak out over things like a white person owning a Chinese restaurant as "cultural appropriation" and oh, I have a hunch probably aren't in favor of effectively reinstating segregation under "woke" grounds.
