Unlike many Atlas posters, Bevin is smart enough to know the (R) next to his name is all that matters. Racist KY Hicks will not vote for a Demoncrat under any circumstances.

Bevin could personally take a dump on the head of every Kentucky voter, tell them it's Obama's/Hillary's/Deep State's fault, and still win big.

It's only bad to insult voters/claim that large swaths of them are dumb if you're a Democrat.

Concluding that Bevin is calling his constituents dumb based off the quote in the OP is a stretch. His statement appears to be a pretty straightforward comment that despite his poll numbers, he was able to win his 2015 gubernatorial race (I looked at the RCP average for the race and the average was Conway +3% and Bevin won by 8.7%, which means he outperformed the polling average by 11.7%).

That's a bizarre interpretation of his statement

There is some truth to this.
But in all seriousness, if this Governor came out and said it directly, no one in the GOP would be surprised or would care.
Because trump has basically said the same thing, and his ignorant cultish followers still love him .... "I love the poorly educated."

He shouldn't have used the words "poorly educated" but not going to college =/= dumb.

He really just won basically every “undecided voter.” Conway polled at 44.3% and got 43.8% in the final results, so the polls were accurate. Bevin was at 41% and won 52%. This means if a Democrat isn’t leading and near the 50% mark or there isn’t a third party siphoning off possible Republican votes, the odds are pretty great that the (R) next to his name will carry Bevin to a win.
