Well, there it is. Trump-era Republicans are actually getting a thumbs up from me today. It feels dirty saying that.

This. It’s feel weird for Republicans to be doing anything that actually helps people.

These lawmakers should mind their own business.

Can we say the same for abortion?

I wish they offered conversion therapy to turn you into a decent human being.

If there were any Republican-dominated state legislature today that would likely pass this kind of legislation, my guess is it would be Utah. So far I'm pleased and not surprised.

Mormons are having to deal with homosexuality. It may be that conservative, traditionalist people are better able to deal with something that goes mainstream. When the Supreme Court ruled in favor of same-sex marriage in Utah, the government told public officials that they might not have to sign marriage licenses for same-sex marriages, but that they would have to find someone who would. Would they rather have gays among them or break up extended families?

If anything, it is homophobia that presents itself as a cause for 'conversion therapy'.  Violent homophobia is dangerous to potential targets (and one does not need be a homosexual to be at risk) and a great risk for criminal conduct.

Does anyone know what causes homosexuality, anyway?

Reassess the actions that led you to that post.

So, it's okay to engage in bonafide per se Medical malpractice so long as the adult consents to it?

I'll withhold my applause until they actually pass a law. But I can't say I'm totally surprised. Mormons can relate to being a marginalized and persecuted minority. I recall Utah in some way standing up for Muslims, against the current trend in the Republican Party.
