Is Satanism a Religion?

So, for my first post on the Religion board I'm asking a pretty volatile question, and this is a genuine question for you all.  I'm curious to see how Atlas feels about this.

From all appearances, no. It seems to be a group of Atheists with a particular choice of how they will parody the excesses of Christianity. At best, its a school of philosophy, so to call it religion would require calling all schools of philosophy with the term of religion. But even Dawkinsism has a better claim to the title of religion than Satanism. At least the followers of Richard Dawkins have a clearer idea of what they stand for.

No. the vast majority of satanists (like me) are atheists who just believe in Satan as a metaphor.
