Is anything being done to reduce the level of grinding in the series to help out the countless people who are addicted?

It has been very easy for a long time to level up without much effort.

I will say that I quit playing in 2012 if I can recall correctly (maybe it was 2011), and I have always considered it since then to be 1 of the best decision I have ever made with my life.

There is apparently a dog with a sword, that's pretty cool.

No idea about Gen 8, but I played Gen 7 (UltraMoon to be precise) a couple of months ago and they had introduced an overpowered Exp Share, where all your party members got Exp.

That certainly makes the game laughably easy, and in fact I disabled it. That did mean I had to do a bit of grinding but nothing too bad. (especially since I reactivated the Exp Share for grinding)

It will also still be a thing long after Fortnite dies and whatever comes after it dies too.

Admittedly, since Borderlands 3's announcement, that has had my attention much more than Pokemon as of late. But after watching the Nintendo Direct from a few days ago...that's for the best. I'm slightly underwhelmed, especially after such a long gap without new information.

I'm still probably going to get it when (or if) I get bored of Borderlands 3, but the whole dynamax gimmick really annoys me. Not only does it sound like an erectile dysfunction medication but it might be the dumbest thing Pokemon has ever done. It's worse than mega evolutions and z-moves. I'm fine with it for those online raid battles but if not using it elsewhere wasn't unilateral disarmament, maybe I wouldn't mind, but it looks like you're basically going to have to do it like with the gimmicks from previous games. Also the legendaries are really convoluted and awkward looking. They couldn't find any other way to incorporate swords or blades into that legendary other than just having it clumsily carry it in its mouth? Also Nintendo sure loves cramming cheesy songs into games these days, huh?

On the positive side, I like or have nothing bad to say about any of the other Pokemon. Corviknight especially looks absolutely badass! I also like that random encounters are gone. And all in all, there is still no way that a main series Pokemon game for a console won't be fun, especially with friends, even in spite of whatever flaws I may perceive so far. I'm just not as filled with the brim with excitement for it as I want to be.
