Senator Lechassuer's last activity dates are as follows:

Last Active:   February 11, 2019, 10:52:11 am
Last Post:  February 09, 2019, 04:57:52 pm
Last Senate Post: February 06, 2019, 06:23:06 pm

Link: https://uselectionatlas.org/FORUM/index.php?action=profile;u=14266

Attempts to get in touch with him have, with the exception of a single face book response to Fhtagn been unsuccessful. I am saddened that we are at this stage, but it is what it is.

This cannot be expedited, in case anyone tries to do that. Tongue

Quote
4.) Expulsion proceedings shall be initiated if:
a.) the Senator has not posted anything on the Atlas Fantasy Government board for 168 consecutive hours and hasn't posted a valid Leave of Absence (then the time covered by that LOA shall not count toward those 168 hours, but periods of inactivity before and after the LOA shall count as a continuous period, provided there are no interceding posts. In order to be valid, a Leave of Absence shall not be longer than 368 hours). And an article of expulsion has been introduced in the Senate Legislative Introduction Thread.
b.) 3 Senators have sponsored an article of expulsion, introduced in the Legislative Introduction Thread, against one of their Senate colleagues
5.) The President Pro Tempore shall open a thread and commence the debates. Debates shall last at least for 72 hours. After the debates have elapsed, the President Pro Tempore shall open a vote, which shall last for 3 days. In order to expel the Senator, a two-third majority of the sitting Senators is needed.

He's been online on the Atlas discord after those dates I'm pretty sure(indeed I messaged him after those dates), weird that he doesn't seem to have responded.

Yes this has been noticed and has led to a flurry of un-responded to messages on my part as well.

It has been explained to me that his phone might automatically log into Discord and thus give the appearance of him being on, without him actually being on if that makes sense. Whether it is exactly this or a some other reason related to technology, the strong chance is that his presence on discord is an AI induced mirage.

The other scenario is that his RL situation is so severe that he is ignoring Discord and Atlas almost Sestak style because of stress and compounding stress from fear of people being mad at him for not getting on for so long. I have been in this boat before, particularly when my Mom was dying though that only a few days at a time.

I endorse passage of this motion. I understand RL gets tough, but the South needs its proper representation in the Senate.

If Lech does come back eventually and apologizes, I would not attack him personally and I hope others would not either.

I imagine since this has been introduced that it doesn't require the sponsorship of 3 senators.

But considering we aren't applying terms retroactively (otherwise, Lechasseur would already be expelled under the terms of the Activity Standards Ammendment reciently ratified) I think if we are taking March 1st as the start of the countdown, we should use the 3 sponsors rule (or wait 2 more days until the 7th, which considering debate will last for at least 72 hours, will happen no matter what)

So here's my signature

Either way, I fully agree with Wulfric. RL can get tough and if he comes back I will certainly welcome him, but we should not deprive the South of it's proper representation in the Senate.

This is an unfortunate situation, however it is clear that Senator Lechasseur's inactivity has reached a point where it is simply unacceptable.

I support this motion wholeheartedly.

I support this motion. As others here have stated, while Lech should undoubtedly deal with his real life problems, we can’t let them deprive the South of the representation they deserve.

I was operating under the assumption that the vote itself couldn't be held by the previous Senate for the current Senate (more of a constitutional matter), but the activity standard for number of sponsorships (set by Senate rules) isn't affected by the change in Senates, indeed there is no such mention in the rules about it resetting and we already have several things that continue unaffected like any ongoing votes, debate threads etc across the Senate session change.

However to be safe, I will add you, Devout, and Ontario as Sponsors. Senators have 24 hours to object.

His last 2 topics posted before he vanished don’t inspire confidence.

I hope he’s okay. He’s a great dude and was a very good senator who’s not that much more conservative than I am.

But yea sadly he should be expelled. A 5 Senator body is unacceptable, especially given that I’m sure his Senate seat can be filled by someone active.

Yea those are both concerning, especially the second one. I wish there was something that I could to help him whatever his circumstances may be.

I don't want to go into detail about his situation as he has not given me permission to discuss it with others, but it is worth noting that I last heard from him on Feb 17th off forum. I reached out on the 19th letting him know he won reelection and addressing the inactivity, but I haven't heard from him nor has he read the messages.

It is to my understanding if we go through with this he understands it is necessary to keep things moving in game based on our conversation on the 17th.
