Senate Rules Budget Slot Amendment

Article 2, Clause 2 of the Senate Rules shall be amended as follows:

e. The sixteenth slot shall be reserved for budget debates and related resolutions and statutes. This slot shall be administered by the President of Congress.

We are going to have pass not one but two budgets in the coming months. One for the remainder of this fiscal year and one for the fiscal year starting October 1st. To ensure speedy uptake of budgets coming from the house, we should thus have a slot, just as the house does for the budget resolutions and such.

This is administered by the Vice President, which is the same as it is for the house.

Senators have 24 hours to object to the motion to waive the rules on minimum debate and cloture and proceed immediately to a final vote.
