I’m going to suggest that statehood or not, these locations referenced here should be admitted to the regions as territories. They’re part of the US IRL after all so they should be part of this game.

Preset many of these locations, in the Pacific Ocean were added to the Pacific region as a single state called oceania or something like that.

There is one last amendment needed before we get to a final vote: setting a date in Section 2.1.

I strongly second this—obviously statehood is the preferred outcome, but failing that there is no reason the Atlasian citizens in these territories should continue to be refused representation at the regional level. Yankee's proposal would also be acceptable.

Are you referring to my pre-reset reference or something else?

I’d rather have the Senate do a debate personally before we amend.

A debate on the date you mean?

Technically speaking, the amendment process contains a debate period. It is just never taken advantage of most of the time.

When amendments to bills are offered to a given text, there is or at least was a 24 hour period in which a vote on the amendment was barred. This overlaps the 24 hour objection period and such objections could extend the period of debate. Ironically there was a time where I felt it necessary to have pre-process debate on complex matters to avoid getting caught in an amendment loop where each one fails over a minor technicality that needed to be adjusted. This was more common though when we had 70+ and even 100+ amendments during a Senate sessions. Good times!

I’d suggest a referendum within 30 days.

Furthermore, if we chose to add said territories to the regions, that should go in effect ASAP IMO.

I'm totally in favor of adding these territories as states as long as it's approved by the referendums.

The amendment by Devout Centrist has passed.

I’m going to suggest that statehood or not, these locations referenced here should be admitted to the regions as territories. They’re part of the US IRL after all so they should be part of this game.

That does seem like it could be a good idea, though I'd like to know what territorial status would mean for the purposes of Atlasia.

If you mean in terms of being able to register in them, I think that would be allowable even without statehood being granted though a pre-requisite would be them being assigned or allocated to a region, but that is just my hunch.

I actually created the link for this in my notepad but neglected to come back and click it because it was posted anywhere on Saturday. I temporarily created a post in my officethread to avoid this oversight from happening. I am waiting for clarification from Jimmy, after which I will move both posts to the Noticeboard thread.
