During the Soviet-Afghan war between May 1986 and January 1989, Pakistan Air Force F-16s shot down at least eight intruders from Afghanistan.

They used to be good friends with America, and would follow America around a lot, and also really wanted to support the muslim mujahideen against secular forces. One of the pilot's shot down twice would actually go on to the VP of Yeltsin, actually also acting president for a couple weeks, and governor of Kursk. One of my uncle's colleagues shot him down one of those times.
