I think the Senate is more of a stepping stone for Scott to reach the presidency. I feel his plans were originally to challenge Hillary in 2020. If the seat is open in 2024, I think DeSantis goes after it. I think he will go after the Preaidency in 2028 if the Democrat wins.

Big question is who's likely to become the first POTUS from FL ?

A.) DeSantis

B.) Scott

DeSantis, and it's not even close. DeSantis is much younger, already more popular and doesn't look like Voldemort. I think there's a good chance that Dems will either defeat Scott or take his open seat assuming he runs in 2024.

C obviously. But the fact that he's been an actually non-terrible Governor so far is pretty surprising.

No doubt he'll eventually do something awful and outrageous though.

You know what's amazing?

Nikki Fried could pass for his grown up daughter and she's actually A YEAR OLDER.

C

I think he’ll become a lobbyist once he’s done being a lobbyist

As for the Presidency
2024 Nominee: Mike Pence if Trump wins, wide open if Trump loses
So, he should hope Trump loses in 2020, and then run for 2024 nom and face an incumbent Democrat with probably 50-50 approval, but in that case 2024 primary will be contested

Senate:
Scott and Rubio are not going anywhere, unless the voters want them to

The ethics of Trump will last should he leaves office after 2021, it will complicate GOP prospects into 2024

Surprisingly, DeSantis seems like he may end up being a popular governor. If he keeps it up, I think he'll get reelected in 2022.

I get the sense Rick Scott won't really love the Senate and would rather be in an executive role. I could see Scott running for President in 2024, or just retiring from the Senate. If it's an open Senate seat, I think DeSantis will definitely run for it (Maybe I'm wrong about Scott though, perhaps Scott will enjoy the Senate and will run for reelection).

If there is no open Senate seat in 2024, I could see DeSantis trying to run for President.

DeSantis is still very young and while controversial would appeal to alot of people (young, handsome, veteran)  I think assuming Trump looses in 2020 he could be the Republican nominee in 2024

C, but if I had to guess right now Trump loses to Biden in 2020, Biden doesn't run for reelection, and 2024 is Gov. DeSantis vs. VP Harris. Tilt DeSantis, but a million things can change between then and now.

What in the world are you talking about, DeSantis looks fairly young himself (because he is, at least by political standards). Anyway, he'll probably be POTUS some day

Based on those pics I'd have guessed DeSantis is about 50 and Nikki is about 30.

Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis has the highest voter approval of any Florida chief executive in 10 years, a poll released Wednesday found.

Florida voters approve 59 to 17 percent of the job DeSantis is doing, according to the Quinnipiac University poll, and even Democrats back him by 42 to 28 percent.

The monkey comments will harm him nationwide and also probably his lackluster debating skills.

He sounds more like a Dan Quayle.

Florida is a very backwards state to elect this racist man.

That's completely within the bounds of reality for Florida.

I trust you when it comes to Florida since the 2018 elections. Unfortunately he probably will be President one day. It makes me sick. The question though is when does he run? 2024 or 2028? He will almost definitely be re-elected in 2022 after all.

Actually, I think he could potentially be endangered in 2022 (especially if Morgan runs, which is why he has been so progressive on the marijuana issue) simply due to voter fatigue. Florida is trending red, but we're not Utah. I highly doubt the GOP dominance will last through 2026, if DeSantis is reelected (which seems likely).

You will probably disagree, but I don't see Trump losing reelection. Certainly not impeached at least. But 2020 will probably still be as much as an uphill climb for Trump as 2016 was, despite my confidence in his reelection. 2020 will decide if DeSantis runs in 2024 or 2028. We're all going to be absolutely exhausted by eight years of Trump, and I'm certain a Democrat will win in 2024. If I were advising DeSantis, (and God willing if my dreams come true, I'll be working as a speechwriter for him one day - a complete delusion, I know Tongue), I'd tell him that 2028 will put him roughly in the same position as Mitt Romney in 2012.

Accept of course DeSantis would win, because he's not an evil corporate bad guy like Romney, but that depends on the Democrat's drift to the left continues at the pace it currently is.
