https://www.mjindependent.com/home/2019/3/6/norway-and-moose-jaw-sign-mooserandum-of-understanding-xsfmsThe feuding communities of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan and Stor-Evdal in Norway have signed an official Mooserandum of Understanding, colloquially known as the "Moose Truce" after months of escalating conflict between the two communities.
It started when Stor-Evdal laid claim to the tallest moose statue in the world, a claim held by the community of Moose Jaw for decades. Verbal shots were fired, the fans were flamed, and many wondered if it were truly the end.
Thankfully the leaders of both communities came together and offered a compromise. While Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan will be able to reclaim the title for tallest moose statue with some cosmetic surgery to his antlers, the moose statue in Stor-Evdal will lay claim to the title of "shiniest and best looking moose statue on earth". In addition, each community set aside a day to celebrate the other country each year in a gesture of good-willed compromise.
There is talk that the two cities may officially consummate the relationship and become twinsies.
In any case, war has been avoided. Moose matters are once again settled.
