Running for Congress in 2020. Lord knows the man is not the sort to take any lessons from repeated electoral defeats, but that may be a bit much, even for him (and, of course, he might win too).

Why would that stop him? The guy's been running nonstop for office for nearly 20 years.

Bold of you to assume Pritzker will still be in office.

Something tells me he'll be able to deflect any and all scandals. The news that broke about him during the campaign did absolutely nothing to hurt him. So, yes, I do assume that he will still be in office and I assume he'll win reelection without issue.

I think people just ignored it because Rauner was insanely unpopular and suburbanites were eager to stick it to Trump. With Rauner (and potentially Trump) gone in 2022, he'll just have himself to lean on, and he's not popular so far.

The Genersl Assembly has a 2/3rds Democrat majority since 2012, thus, Pritzer has no competetion among GOP state Assembly in the minority

Oberweis is a pretty good bet regardless, unless he beats Lauren in 2020.

If Trump loses in 2020, I think more folks will run and try to capitalize on anti-whoever-is-President sentiment. Then, I think Rodney Davis and/or Adam Kinzinger are potential candidates.
