12 Republicans joined Democrats in the vote.
The vote was 59-41.

Thom Tillis had initially said he planned to vote for the resolution. But in a last-minute reversal, he voted against it, saying ...
"Today, I come to the floor to say that I do not intend to vote for the resolution of disapproval."
Then adding "The White House has been very gracious and I should say very patient given my initial position in working with us."

So if Tillis had voted for the resolution, it would have been 60 votes.

Besides losing the 2012 Election, this is Romney's best contribution to the country.

What a coincidence....they just happen to be 1 vote short of a veto override. Im sure its just chance and not political theatre in any way tho. My oh my

It is interesting how the senate and the house had almost the same number of GOP nos despite the GOP caucus being like 3.5 times bigger in the house.

I think its far more interesting the amount of accolades Republicans are given for trying and failing to fix problems they themselves created. For the past 4 decades....everyones just warching and waiting for the GOP to return to being a sane and semi-functional political party with the Dems cheering them on like parents cheering on a kid up to bat at the little league game." Oh darn looks like little Timmy struck out for the thousandth time....next time you'll get it right ya little scamp'"

So 12 republicans grew something resembling a spine. Or really did the bare minimum of what was required of them.

That means that 41 republicans completely failed their most basic moral duty. Ask ANY OF those 41 republicans whether they feel that the president should be allowed to appropriate funds that congress specifically has denied and I'm sure they would answer "no", because it is the only correct answer, unless you want an authoritarian regime.

What a complete failure.

Did he forget he's facing reelection next year or has he just given up, realizing he's gone?

This is probably the first and last time I'll ever be proud of one of my state's deplorable senators, but credit where credit is due: THANK YOU SEN. ROY BLUNT for doing the right thing!

I think he's worried about the primary.

Tbh I'd be completely fine with Sasse being primaried out by a consistent Trumpist. In fact, I might prefer the Trumpist.
