Firstly,

R.I.P. to our friends in New Zealand.

Looking at these "mass shooting" atrocities, there is little dispute that these are contagious in nature.

https://www.researchgate.net/publication/280030460_Contagion_in_Mass_Killings_and_School_Shootings

"apparently due to the coverage planting the seeds of ideation in at-risk individuals to commit similar acts."

https://www.theatlantic.com/health/archive/2017/11/americas-mass-shooting-epidemic-contagious/545078/

"Forty-nine people shot dead in Orlando, June 12 of last year."

"there are some data that mass shootings often occur in bunches, which indicates that they “infect” new potential murderers, not unlike a disease"

https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/mass-shootings-are-contagious/

"The investigators applied a mathematical model and found that shootings that resulted in at least four deaths launched a period of contagion, marked by a heightened likelihood of more bloodshed, lasting an average of 13 days."

Research into violent video games suggests that there is no link to mass shootings.

https://www.nytimes.com/2018/02/23/us/politics/trump-video-games-shootings.html

Research into the public availability of guns suggest there is a tentative link to mass shootings.

But after looking at the TV this morning in Australia, NZ Prime Minister Jacinda Arden needs to give up the media conferences and keep the details shorter. She is good, and leads well.

But.

Her conferences are prolific in discussing this case, and is starting to sound like a TV journalist. She sounds alarmed, stressed, and it discussing fine details of the case which could be viewed as almost prejudicial in his court case.

This sends a message to potential shooters that their countries leaders will be stressed on TV for 4 hours if they carry out an attack.

My point is that we need less media coverage of these people, events and ideology.

Based on the research above, it is clear that the spread of this contagious social phenomenon is purely by media alone.

As the media coverage gets more intense, these will get more intense in nature.

This latest shooting footage is actually being played in part on national morning TV news stories in Australia with such repetition, it almost needs to be regulated.

We are satisfying the narcissistic requirements of this killer by putting him on 24 hour news coverage including a continual series of live feeds from the NZ Prime Minister, the Australian Prime Minister and the opposition leader.

Simply way too much air time for this piece of garbage.

This guy got baited the worlds media and got them hook, line and sinker:

https://foreignpolicy.com/2019/03/15/how-the-christchurch-shooter-played-the-worlds-media/

"All this poses hard questions for how the media should respond to a massacre broadcast across the internet."

"Along with a link to his Facebook page, the shooter posted links to his 74-page manifesto spread across multiple sites so that other users of 8chan could grab a copy before the document was taken down. (8chan grew out of the similar site 4chan after some users of the latter thought it had become too hostile to highly offensive and hateful content.)"

It has been known for a while that several killers used to browse r/The_Donald. After Christchurch, you can still find posts commemorating the killer; place is one big killer meme factory. Reddit’s Admins reacted by censoring and containing anti-racists pleas and activism to get it banned by censoring everything. Expect a lot of flak and outrage to fall upon Reddit very quickly in the same way as Facebook.

Glad I am not the only one who noticed that Australian media (Ch 9 and 7) were addicted to showing the video of Christchurch.

https://www.abc.net.au/mediawatch/episodes/christchurch/10913024

Love the analysis. Facebook cut the live version after 17 minutes.

But the cat was out of the bag by then.
