My kindergarten had a mock election in 96. I was the only Perot voter.

1980.  I was eight and on ROC and heard that Reagan was pro-ROC versus that traitor Carter that recognized Chinese Communist.   Then I got the news that Reagan won.  As far as elections were concerned I did have some memories of the 1977 ROC local elections when I was five and recall hearing my family debating/arguing who to vote for during family gatherings  There are pro-KMT and anti-KMT branches of my family and they were clearly on display during these debates.

2000. My parents supported Gore, but I supported Bush because the girl across the street I had a crush on was from a Republican family.

I don't know about 2004, but i remember watching news items about the first black president being elected, but i remember about Bush being the president before, and especially when it came to foreign policy, Iraq and terrorism (not about domestic policies).

In 2012 i got punished by my school and had to make a summary / work of the Republican primaries... Little did they know that politics was going to become my passion or one of them (lol). They thought they gave me the most boring work ever, lol. But back than, i actually wasn't interested in that much, and i don't remember much about the 2012 election... But i still remember reading about Santorum, Romney and Gingrich, and that was the first time i did read about primaries. But i don't remember the actual 2012 presidential election.

I remember watching the results of the 2014 elections where Republicans did win on the news / TV. But the only politicians i knew in 2015 were Obama, Biden and Clinton. And Sanders changed everything and made me follow American politics a lot. I quickly got into American politics because of Sanders.

I always admired Clinton (maybe because i didn't know better), and my mom did as well. We even have a book of her. And all of that changed in 2015-2016.

2004. We held an election in our kindergarten class and I voted for John Kerry who received like 3 votes compared to George Bush who received more than 20 votes.

The first election I played serious attention to was 2008 when I really wanted Hillary to win, gosh how times had change.

1976 I was in the 2nd grade.  Jimmy Carter had lots of teeth and a big smile and Ford was clumsy.  Hard choice for a 2nd grader.  I'm not real certain who I voted for.

2008. I remember my family and the community in general being excited about Obama. I faintly remember my Mom watching his victory speech on TV. However, I remember his Inauguration the most watching that on TV in the classroom during my 2nd grade year. I still have an Obama “44th President of the United States” bookmark that I got from school as well.

I was born in 1992. But I have the earliest, distinct memories of the 2000 election.

Depends on what you mean by remember :

If you mean like know there is an election going on: Than that was in 2004 and I supported Bush because he was the President and I thought he was cool . Even in the mock election in my class most people supported Bush because he seemed super cool.

Even though I was Barely alive for 04 and 08 I vaguely remember watching One News who said Obama was running for re-election and then later the day after the election declaring his win. I vaguely remember thinking it was a good thing because I knew no other president.

The first one I closely followed was 2016 of course and I remember being a Hillary Clinton keyboard warrior (as a foreigner mind you) during the primaries and being staunchly opposed to Trump. I wore Hillary 2016 buttons the day of the election which were complemented by my teachers.
