I would vote for Texasgurl.  And Jake is probably his own worst enemy given his tendency to make extreme statements, even if they are tongue-in-cheek.

If i had to choose, Jake, but neither is a particularly good choice. They're both somewhat sane (especially compared to, you know, opebo v. NixonNow or something like that), but i don't like their views much.

While I don't like either ones political ideology, I like both personally.  So, I dunno.

I like them both personally.  I never like to have to choose between two people I like personally, least of all publicly.  Jake's views are probably closer to mine, but yesterday he called me a liberal.  I don't take too kindly to that.

I'd vote for Texasgurl, and she would win.  Alaska, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, and Arizona would be in play because she's against gun control.  (From a purely philosophical point of view, conservatives should be for more gun control while liberals should be against it.  Or maybe Texasgurl wants her guns in case the theocrats take over.)  She has favorite daughter status in Texas, so that state would be in play as well.  TexasGurl would also fare better in the rural parts of Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Ohio.  She'd fare slightly worse than Kerry in California, Illinois, New Jersey,  New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts, but none of these states are real battleground states.
