Dane County Judge Jill Karofsky running for SC next year.  Looks like there will be a primary, which could produce more buzz around this race that may have been lacking this year.

Honestly, not when stuff like this keeps happening: https://madison.com/wsj/news/local/govt-and-politics/wisconsin-supreme-court-restores-all-scott-walker-appointees/article_7937bbd9-4285-5123-89f5-65919673e297.html?utm_source=facebook.com&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=wisconsin+state+journal&fbclid=IwAR2KtjmWph-DnxbTiwYcHH7xa_m7OwwZmFN2U2GQwGskqjGEuRUzhiBhJEo

I am still very disappointed in WI Dems for sitting out on the SC Race. This is exactly why the Supreme court election was so critically important. Now we are stuck for decades with a far right court who will keep ruling against anything Democrats try to do.

Here are some regional Assembly maps for Milwaukee, Madison, and the Fox Valley/Cities:

Hey Gass... any chance you could do hi-res statewide maps? This project looks great and you should share it!

I don't have a hi-res statewide map. I am hoping that I get a map made up shortly that will allow me to color things in with paint.

But I do have a direct link to the map in DRA!

Ben Wikler elected new chair of DPW.  Won in a landslide over state Rep. and incumbent vice-chair David Bowen.

He did an amazing job mobilizing folks with MoveOn against the Trump during the craziness that was year one and did a great job organizing before the 2018 election. Good choice!

His speech at a Dem convention yesterday mentions that he wields the "most powerful veto pen in the country".

He isn't the dull speaker I feared. His line to the GOP ("Well who's boring now?") was a good craic.

However, wouldn't an adversarial move such as blocking the entire 2-year budget, an action not seen since 1931, not guarantee backlash among his "Wisconsin nice" Dem electors?

Wisconsin-GUB appears to be a tough deal for Democrat: in the past 35 years, they've only won the popular majority once, in 2006.

Most Wisconsin voters are hardcore partisans with a few idiotic swing voters in between.(idiotic because they vote for both Baldwin and Walker) This probably doesn't hurt Evers that much.

Rebecca Kleefisch is the most underrated retail politician in the country. Evers is toast in 2022.

Its called the Frankenstein Veto. It used to be much stronger than it is now due to a 2009 Amendment.

Someone needed to take the fight to the WI Republican politicians (NC Republicans Lite), who have been ransacking the state since 2010.

Didn't the Dems have a trifecta in 2009? Why would they hamstring themselves up like that?

2010 probably caught them all napping.

I wish Evers was 10 years younger because sadly I think he'd fare poorly against a younger candidate like Kleefisch or Gallagher.
