No one voted for Doug Jones because of the tax bill, this is a ridiculous question.

For all intents and purposes, the only factor that caused Jones' win was the pedophilia accusations. Without them, he would've gone down in flames like every other Alabama dem senate candidate of the 21st century.
Virtually no voters flipped Trump -> Jones because of dissatisfaction with Trump or his policies.

I think Roy Moores loss cannot be explained by any single issue, and that it was the combination of so many issues at once that was necessary for Roy Moore to lose.

It was basically a "death by 1000 cuts" type of loss. Remove almost anything that hurt him from the picture, and he wins despite everything else that was hurting him.

It doesn't make any sense to believe that Moore's loss was caused by anything other than his pedophilia allegations, considering Trump and his tax bill were very popular in Alabama.

Trump himself was popular in Alabama, but the Tax Bill was not. The Tax Bill was unpopular everywhere in the Country.

Keep in mind that issues that are entirely based on Economic policy tend to have the lowest level of geographical polarization to public opinion of the issue.
