Just a question:
Is Tampa Bay, the team with the best regular season record to be swept in the first round of the playoffs, in NHL history

(Meaning has there been a team with more points than them, who was swept in the first round)

Yes, it's the first time the President's Trophy winner has been swept in the first round and only the 3rd time the President's Trophy winner has been swept period (the other teams were swept in the Stanley Cup Finals).
The Blackhawks had the best record in the Campbell Conference in the 92-93 season, but didn't win the President's Trophy, and got swept by the Blues in the first round.  I was at the 4th game, 60 feet or so behind Belfour when the Blues won it in OT.

I saw they were down 2-0 going into the third and kind of assumed they were going to lose and was very happy to find out they managed to pull it out.  I hope I can figure out a way to watch tomorrow night.

Blues advance to the 2nd round 4-2 over the Jets with a 3-2 win tonight.
The Blues were 3-0 when I slept through the games, 1-1 when I paid attention to them online and 0-1 when I watched.  Clearly I'm cursed Smiley

me too.  That would be a bull sh**t call in a regular season game, in the middle of the second period.  But in the third period of a game 7?  Total bull sh**t.  And a funking 5 min major?  He's right, it's embrassing.

That was a much-needed 4-1 victory for my Blues to set up a win or go home game for both teams Tuesday night. Hopefully we continue our quest for the Cup past Tuesday night.

The winner of Game 7 gets the San Jose-Colorado series winner, while the loser goes home.
I'm feeling good since I'm pretty sure Bishop has PTSD to go along with a bitchin bruise on his shoulder.

yeah, those turnovers killed us (and SJ had a couple of really nice goals)

also, Joe Thornton looks like the "that'll do pig" guy (James Cromwell).

Sharks are tired, they shouldn't even bother flying back to St.Louis.

Interesting prediction. Care to elaborate?
yes, Boston is soft, the Blues are hard.  The Blues are going to punish them, just like they did SJ.  History owes the Blues.  The last time the Blues were in the finals, they got swept by the Bruins.  In this playoffs, the Isle swept Pit, Carolina swept the Isle and then Boston swept Carolina.  So now it's Boston's turn.  Poetic justice.  Karma.  Momentum.  Everything is pointing towards the Blues.

only 'cause the Bruin that got hurt is soft.  If he hadn't gotten hurt, there wouldn't have been a penalty.  Because it wasn't a penalty.

The Blues lose 7-2 to the Bruins in Game 3 to go down in the series 2-1, thanks to the Bruins' PP scoring 4 of the goals. This game was a damn embarrassment in front of our home crowd. The good news is that we finally scored on the power play.

This team had better wake the hell up in Game 4 if we want any chance at winning the Stanley Cup!!!! 😡🤬😡🤬🖕🏼

Good, St. Louis crowd is full of obnoxious drunkards, bad, sad, and haram!

It's kind of funny that murder capital St.Louis didn't have a single arrest during their celebration and Toronto in "safe" Canada had multiple shootings during theirs.

It's idiotic that you even find humor in this.

Can't expect much more from dead0man dude.
from a couple of unironic Assad supporters, this is a huge compliment to me.  Thanks authoritarian assholes for making my day a little brighter.

Boston sends St.Louis blue lobster, STL sends back local desert (blueberry flavored frozen yogurt)
Quote
Since the beginning of May, this town that sees red in the summer has been all about the Blues. And the stories extend beyond the hockey team.

Take the blue lobster for instance.

The owner of Arnold’s Lobster and Clam Bar on Cape Cod decided to gift a unique blue lobster to the new St. Louis Aquarium currently under construction inside Union Station.

On Friday, that lobster landed in its new Midwest home.

The blue lobster is 11 inches long and weighs about 1.5 pounds. The lobster is estimated to be about 7 years old. They can live up to 100.

<snip>

As a thank you to the Boston restaurant, the St. Louis Aquarium sent 150 cups of blueberry Ted Drewes Frozen Custard.
