Suppose that the American public is magically informed of third party choices and all ballots had enough real estate to accommodate as many third parties as possible and so aren’t locked into moribund choices like the Veterans Party or the Prohibition Party. Maybe get rid of FPTP while you’re at it if that’s what it takes to make this hypothetical feasible. How would voters vote differently?
I’d say the Greens and the Libertarians still dominate third party voters, as having the most established mindshare and ideological distinction.
The Constitution Party continues to decline as Trump has stolen their paleocon stance and the ardent conservatives they appeal to are already represented by far right Republicans.
The DSA becomes a powerful growing third party that might challenge the Greens as most popular further left party.
Would the American Solidarity Party become viable to represent socially conservative, fiscally liberal voters? Or another similar third party takes their place?
