A silly law passed by silly people. It's only too bad it will hurt women and families.

Is there any chance this gets vetoed?

Hopefully the courts strike it down, because politicans shouldn't prohibit an abortion for raped women. Luckily for them, there are states like New York and California.

If you're a poor woman in Alabama, California might as well be Germany.

Confederate-Loving Florida Lawmaker Uses White-Supremacist Talking Point to Justify Abortion Ban

Florida state Sen. Dennis Baxley went on WLRN to talk about abortion, since Georgia, Alabama, and other states recently passed nightmarish anti-abortion restrictions and Baxley himself had sponsored a similar anti-choice bill this year that died before becoming law.

“When you get a birth rate less than 2 percent, that society is disappearing,” Baxley said of Western Europe. “And it’s being replaced by folks that come behind them and immigrate, don’t wish to assimilate into that society and they do believe in having children. So you see that there are long range impacts to your society when the answer is to exterminate.”

The Republican party has simply become a fascist party.

Florida Legislature passes abortion parental consent bill
Girls under the age of 18 will have to get a parent's permission before having an abortion under a bill that Gov. Ron DeSantis is expected to sign.

Common sense.

It's none of the parents' business. Your right to your own agency isn't something that is supposed to begin when you're 18.

These laws have been proven to be a bad idea. The studies show it leads to worse parental relationship and health outcomes, including delaying abortion and being a direct cause of later term abortions.

Stupid policy by fundamentalists and the politicians catering to them that should be left to the women and the medical community that serves them.
