Vietnam easily. 58,000 people died for a bullsh**t war, and that's not including the maimed, wounded, or those non-directly affected by the war.

A bullsh*t war being worse than the existence of literally slavery... interesting take.

And the poll at hand didn't mention the antebellum South; it mentioned the Civil War specifically. A time when the government is knowingly sending young men to die in an unwinnable war is far worse  than the government fighting a war to end slavery.

The question wasn't worst war, but worst period in history.  It was far from certain the US would remain united during the Civil War era and it was by far the bloodiest and most destructive war in our history.

Also...

I voted the Vietnam War because thats the only 1 on this list that was really a problem specific to the US, while also encompassing the entire US, while not being a problem to the rest of the world.

Idk, pretty sure it might've been a pretty big problem for Vietnam.
