I actually deleted my account once back when that was an option. I returned in a few weeks "just to talk about President Forever results" and then...well yeah rest is history. Once Dave disabled that feature he merged my old account with this one. This is why my username is "BRTD", an acronym for an old name of mine.

Most recent time you would have voted for a Republican?

Presidentially? Might've voted for Ike without hindsight. For certain prior to that...I dunno. Might've voted against Wilson in 1916, if not then then in the 19th century.

Non-Presidentially? In some big cities there's a possibility I'd protest vote against a terrible mayor or machine hack politicians...for an actual serious election the last one I could see myself voting for is Oregon Senator Mark Hatfield.

Also if I lived a few blocks south I would've voted for the independent candidate in the 2012 Special State House election, even though he was just as progressive as the Democrat, he was probably the de facto Republican candidate due to there being no Republican on the ballot and not being a Democrat. I imagine the few Republicans thus voted for him, though they made up a minority of the 44% of the vote he received.

I suppose she doesn't count as a writer but I'm a huge fan of Bowie Snodgrass.

Also Greg Boyd (who preaches at my church semi-regular! In fact he did two weeks ago), Rob Bell and Mike McHargue/Science Mike (he's more of a podcaster I guess but he's written books.)
